2016 Mercedes-Maybach Pullman Takes S-Class to New Opulent Lengths
When the S-Class isn't luxurious enough and the Maybach S-Class not long enough, then Benz would like you to meet the excessively lavish and outrageously long, all-new Mercedes-Maybach Pullman.
The introduction of the latest member of the reborn and continuously expanding S-Class family at next month's Geneva Motor Show coincides with the 50th anniversary of the most famous Pullman of them all, the 1965 Mercedes-Benz 600.
Its modern-day incarnation makes the existing 5,453 mm (214.7 in) long Mercedes-Maybach S500/S600 look small in comparison measuring 6,499mm (255.9 in) in length, while adding another 100mm (3.9 in) in height over the S-Class. It rides on an extended 4,418mm (173.9 in) wheelbase, which is about the same length as a Mazda3 sedan…
All that space goes to accommodate the four rear passengers who can sit facing each other in the compartment with an electrically-operated partition window featuring an 18.5-inch (47 cm) monitor located in front that can also be extended electrically.
Alternatively, if that's not enough room for your legs, you can order the Pullman with just two lounge-like executive rear seats that can recline up to 43.5 degrees. Rear passengers get three analogue instruments in the roof liner informing them of the outside temperature, speed and time, and a Burmester high-end 3D surround sound system.
Mercedes says that the entire interior is upholstered in leather, from the seats and the doors to the roof liner, the door-frames and the seat consoles. And that's only the starting point as the Pullman will offer an "unrivalled scope for individualization", according to the Germans.
"Quite apart from providing stately and stylish seating for high-ranking passengers in the comfort and spaciousness for which it is famed, the new Mercedes-Maybach Pullman is of course the embodiment of exclusivity at its highest level," commented Daimler board member Ola Källenius. "One can sense the significance and greatness of it in every detail."
Power for the Pullman comes from Merc's 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 with 530PS (523hp) and 830Nm (612 lb-ft) of peak torque at 1,900 rpm.
The new Mercedes-Maybach Pullman goes on sale at the beginning of 2016 with prices for un-armored models starting from around €500,000 or about $570,000.

Those rear facing seats of the Pullman look pretty short to me, I wouldn't want to sit there, can they be extended a bit ? Maybe they are meant mostly for kids ?

Kids? Seriously doubt it. Members of your political party/security detail that are less important than you? Yes, entirely possible.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet spied with minimal camouflage
Launching later this year
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet has made a comeback in a revealing set of spy images.
Just like yesterday with the facelifted SL spy shots, the prototype spotted here wears body-colored camouflage noticeable on the hood and on the rear half of the car but nevertheless these are by far the most revealing spy photos of the S-Class Cabriolet. This is the first time we get a better view at the retractable soft top while the overall design is as expected heavily influenced by the S-Class Coupe.
There are some spy shots with a white prototype carrying a more extensive camouflage at the rear end, indicating the taillights could be considerably different than those of its fixed roof sibling. The engine lineup will be largely carried over all the way up to the S63 and S65 AMG models.
Mercedes-Benz has already confirmed the S-Class Cabriolet will be introduced later this year.

Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo Coupe Is an S63 AMG Coupe on Steroids [38 Photos]

Brabus claims its take on the Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe is the world’s fastest and most powerful all-wheel drive coupe. Scheduled to debut at the Geneva Motor Show next week, the Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo Coupe is powered by a heavily revised version of the twin-turbo V8 engine from the S63 AMG Coupe.
Brabus fitted the engine with a special crankshaft with longer stroke, as well as an enlarged cylinder bore and correspondingly larger forged pistons, resulting in a displacement increase from 5,461 cc to 5,912 cc.
Add to these modifications the two Brabus turbochargers with larger compressor units and modified exhaust manifolds and it becomes clear why the engine of the Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo Coupe produces 850PS (838hp) at 5,400 rpm and 1,450Nm (1,069lb-ft) of peak torque between 2,500 and 4,500 rpm.
However, torque is electronically limited to 1,150Nm (848lb-ft) “in the interest of the longevity of the entire powertrain,” as Brabus delicately puts it. The engine sends power to all four wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission and the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. The tuner also offers a variant with rear-wheel drive.
Performance-wise, the Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo Coupe is blisteringly fast, sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.5 seconds and from 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 9.4 seconds. Top speed is restricted electronically to 350 km/h (217 mph). Brabus also modified the suspension lowering module, further lowering ride height by about 15mm (0.6in).
The Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo Coupe’s styling echoes these performances, thanks to the aggressive aero kit consisting of new bumpers sporting a carbon fiber spoiler at the front and a carbon fiber diffuser at the rear, as well as a subtle rear spoiler integrated in the trunk lid. Other changes include the Brabus sports exhaust kit and the Monoblock wheels, available with diameters ranging from 18 to 22 inches.
Inside, the Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo Coupe oozes opulence thanks to the soft and breathable black Mastik leather with copper-colored seams and piping, as well as the 219 individual parts coated in the same Shadow Gold tone as the Brabus Monoblock F wheels on the vehicle. The cabin also gets carbon-fiber elements and a deep black Alcantara headliner.
Aluminum components such as the Brabus Race paddle shifters, pedals and door pins also contribute to the sense of occasion, as do the scuff plates with backlit Brabus 850 logo.

Lexus Champion
Mercedes has always been known to produce vehicles with luxury and power and the new S-Class definitely lives up to that reputation with it's V8 engine and its prestigious interior. Our friends from EVS Motors in Texas got their hands on an S550 and decided to spice it up with some red bottoms. These VPS-304 are our new 6061-T6 Forged Aluminum Alloy Wheels with a Brushed Translucent Red finish. We love the look the wheels on the car especially with the Prior Design body kit.

Best Spy Shots Yet Of New Mercedes-Benz S-Class Convertible
From plastic body armour to swirly wraps, Mercedes has tried its best to keep the new S-Class Convertible fully concealed from prying eyes, but not anymore. This latest tester has dropped most of its camo leaving only the rear bottom half hidden under tape.
The replacement of the metal roof with a foldable cloth top hasn't spoiled the S-Class Coupe's sleek profile and angular rear end, and we imagine it will look even better with the hood down.
The Convertible will retain the Coupe's high-quality cabin for four passengers adding some cool (or rather…warm) features like Mercedes' AIRSCARF neck-level heating system along with the usual structural and safety enhancements found in the firm's open top models.
Everything else available in the S-Class Coupe will be maintained, from the Magic Body Control system that scans the road ahead and adjusts the suspension to the V8 and V12 turbocharged engine line-up, possibly including the 577hp (585PS) S63 and 621hp (630PS) S65 AMGs.
