Mercedes-Benz shows off sinister black S63 AMG Coupe in new ad [video]

Mercedes-Benz has released a promotional video for the 2014 S63 AMG Coupe which they characterize as being "performance art."
The all-new S63 AMG Coupe is being showcased by Mercedes-Benz in the "Performance Art" spot probably in the most appropriate color: black. The promotional clip is accompanied by a poem exclusively written for the video which refers to the high-performance coupe as the "prince of the jungle" and a "feline searching for its prey."
Few preys can match the coupe's 585 PS (430 kW) coming from a V8 5.5-liter twin-turbo engine which enables the two-door S63 AMG hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.9 seconds before reaching an electronically-governed top speed of 186 (300 km/h).
If that's not enough, the S65 AMG Coupe will allegedly be unveiled in July with a V12 6.0-liter twin-turbo packing as much as 630 PS (463 kW).

As usual, horrible CR video. They didn't really delve into the car's distronic systems/steering assist which utilizes lane keep assist and stereoscopic cameras mounted behind the rear view mirror to monitor not only cars in front but lane markings on the road. Also a new thing is stop and go pilot which will handle the steering completely when traveling at a snails pace. Also probably noteworthy to include the auto braking even when distronic is not activated, pre safe brake with pedestrian detection

Lexus Test Driver
While not a Mercedes fan at all, this new S550 kills everything out there now. I'm praying Lexus steps it up with a complete redesign of the LS in a few years and comes back on top. But they have their work cut out for them.

it also showed what a supremely refined and quiet car the new S class is!!

I have never been a fan of the guy who is driving. He talks with barely any emotion and in general leaves a bad feeling in my mind. He always picks on the stupidest things and makes them into negatives of a car

Mercedes-Benz has released images and details of the AMG Line package for the 2014 S-Class Coupe.
Those interested in placing an order for the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe will want to hear about the optional AMG Line kit that brings an array of exterior and interior enhancements to spice up the elegant coupe even further. The package includes a diamond grille with chrome pins along with AMG front and rear aprons and side sills.
Opt for the 19- or 20-inch AMG alloys and you also get fender flares while behind those wheels are perforated disc brakes together with "Mercedes-Benz" lettering on the calipers. On the inside there are velour AMG floor mats, a glossy black wood trim and AMG brushed stainless steel sport pedals with rubber studs.
