Is it that time already? Like its predecessors, the current BMW M5 has been endangering US licenses since it first went on sale here in 2012, but its design became a known quantity back at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. Apparently that also means that the F10 generation has already grown tired enough to the "Must Have Latest Set" who can afford these sorts of super saloons that a facelift is in order.

If these leaked images sourced from Autocar are anything to go by, BMW stylists have used a predictably light hand to rework their hottest 5 Series, with a revised grille that echoes the M6 along with modestly resculpted headlamps. The rear end appears wholly unaltered. Interior changes gleaned from a look at the cabin photos include an updated touchpad-equipped iDrive controller and a new steering wheel cribbed from the M6.

No new word on changes to the 4.4-liter, twin-turbo V8 powertrain, but in late April, we heard that BMW was readying new competition packages for the M5 and M6. The packages are said to include 15 more horsepower, revised suspension and steering, along with new wheels and blackened exhaust tips. Given that BMW is known for habitually underrating its cars' horsepower outputs (particularly its M models) we can't help but wonder if its engineers will need to do anything other than wave a magic wand to corral those extra ponies underhood...

Latest M5 hasn't been as aggressive looking as I'd hopped. Looks rather sedate

supposedly this is a 14 w/ competition pkg

According to BMW Blog, the new M5 will also receive a Competition Package, which will come with its own set of upgrades, including new exhaust system, a revised suspension, and a new set of wheels to go with a performance upgrade that will tack on another 15 horsepower under its hood.

With those modifications in tow, the M5 with the Competition Package is expected to be a tenth of a second faster than the standard model with the top speed remaining at an electronically limited 190 mph.

I recently attended a BMW M meet and I fell in love with the F10 M5 there. I don't care about the reviews it's still badass and lowered with 21s it looked amazing.

Looking forward to the updates.

You must be getting old .

I really have no interest in the F10; the styling is just so soft and generic, compared to previous generations going back 20 years.

Our local dealer has a new in showroom M5 and it is bad *** . Styling is very aggressive in person. These pics are way under rated as they don't pick up the nuances. Its all about the driving experience vs the ride experience exaggerated with the M5.

Thing is it starts at 90k and if you look around I honestly think its a huge value and bargain. I posted in another thread there are big discounts that make it more attractive. Right now there is .9% financing on it. Even loaded to 105-110k or so its actually a good buy. I guess its all relative. To get a Panamera Turbo costs tons more, the E63 will be AWD only and not sure of pricing yet, we don't get the RS6 here and there is no GS F.

I find it utterly handsome inside and out with some nice color choices as well.

Our local casino is offering a BMW M5 F10 as its GRAND RAFFLE PRIZE

That makes it the MOST EXPENSIVE RAFFLE PRIZE in the history of Philippine casino and gambling.

true with discounts and all,.....but again, you would never see one for $90K MSRP; IMO, its just overkill (price and HP) - I mean a 550i with every single option known to man is $80K MSRP
