Lamborghini Egoista Single-Seater Supercar Revealed at 50th Anniversary Party
http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...ary-party.html
Unveiled in Italy tonight at a private event during the brand’s 50th anniversary celebrations, company CEO Stephen Winkelmann drew back the covers on a single-seater supercar.

It isn’t clear yet if this is a concept or a low-volume production car (like the Veneno or Sesto Elemento). In fact it’s not yet even clear what the car’s name is with reports indicating the name Egoista as well as Ecosta.

According to Gazzetta.it the name is in fact Egoista, which translates to “selfish” referring to the fact that this car is to be enjoyed only by only one person. Like many modern Lamborghini products it’s inspired by fighter jets, with a heads up display dominating the view out front. Power is reported to come from a 5.2-liter V10 engine, which in Lambo’s other products makes up to 570 hp.

Meh.

Pretty cool looking. Reminds me of a mech in car form. The cabin/cockpit proportion looks weird to me, like a cyclops, due to the single seater configuration

Trying to be different for the sake of being different. That's what the design of that car says to me. Too many hard angles for my taste.

The Lamborghini of the Future Was Just Revealed
http://www.complex.com/rides/2013/05...eekend-concept
This weekend is the Lamborghini 50th Anniversary Grand Giro event in Italy, which involves racing an entire convoy of Lambos through the hills of Italy in what appears to be one of the most amazing procession of cars in the world, among other things.

One of those other things? Unveiling the Lamborghini of the future.

Nope, not feeling it.

Lamborghini Egoista is a ‘Car Without Compromises’
http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...mpromises.html
Designed by Walter de Silva, the Egoista is simply one of the most extreme and radical exotics to have ever existed. It is powered by a 5.2-liter, V10 with 600 hp, but while that’s rather tame compared to other recently released supercars, the single-seater is designed for pure driving pleasure.

The cockpit, made entirely of carbon fiber and aluminum, was inspired by an Apache helicopter. According to De Silva, it represents a survival cell, isolating the driver and protecting it from external elements. But it’s really the exterior of the Egoista that is shocking. The goal was to have it represent a raging bull preparing to charge, with its horns lowered. Flaps were integrated into the bodywork profile that act automatically depending on the driving conditions. Lighting on the Egoista is more fitting on an aircraft than a vehicle with LED clearance lights that determine its position in three dimensions rather than on a single plane.

A heads-up display is the focal point of the interior, typically found in jet fighters. A removable steering wheel allows the driver to exit and enter the cockpit while the dome opens with an electronic command. A racing seat takes center stage in the interior, if you even want to call it that, accompanied by a four-point seatbelt with each strip a different color.

“It’s as if Ferruccio Lamborghini were saying: I’m going to put the engine in the back, I don’t want a passenger,” said De Silva on the Egoista. “I want it for myself, and I want it as I imagine it to be. It is a fanatical vehicle, Egoista fits it well.”

Unless the girl is sitting in your lap, this single seat cockpit is no good for picking up chicks

Wow, yet another hideous limited edition Lambo! Lambo has definitely lost the plot!

It sure is a car without compromises ... that includes being built without the "compromise" of ANY sort of taste or common sense! .

A jet with wheels.

I would buy one if I were filthy rich. Slap a batman logo on it, and paint it black.

It looks good if you're typically driving through Neo Tokyo as a bounty hunter looking for rogue androids.
