Default Automobile magazine says the ISF is dead?!?!

Just read the article on the 2014 Lexus IS in Automobile magazine ( June 2013 issue page 46), and the article clearly states

" The IS250 and IS350 are each now available in F sport trim and with rear or all wheel drive . The V8 powered ISF and the ISc convertible are no longer offered"

I know everyone got in a hissy at the notion that this would happen a few months back when another member posted an article from a newspaper stating the same thing. We all just dismissed it as poor info from the writer. Whats up now?? Automobile magazine is a respected automotive publication. Any other members have any info or input??

I am sad because I was thinking of getting an ISF for the next car. In the end I want to stay with Lexus but I no longer need a big sedan since we just bought a 2013 Sienna Limited. The wife is telling me to just go and finally get the GTR I want BUT I want to remain as responsible with my money as possible. I will probably step up to the GTR after this next ride. If the news is true I am going to be a disappointed Lexus freak.

The ISF isn't dead, it's been discussed before. It's being released next year or the year after.

This topic is being beaten like a dead horse. Current IS-F and IS-C will soldier on until proper replacements come supposedly as 2015 models

what is your source ?? There have been two publications now stating the opposite. I was on the thread where we discussed it already but couldnt find it after a search. Whats the source of your info or are we just going off what CL members think or have heard through the grapevine ???? I agree that its a bit odd

The horse is not dead.......LOL

So again I state that there is much evidence to the opposite. What is your source?? Do you guys think its going to die and come back like the Viper??? So its like a hiatus ?? I just want to see if we can get some real solid reliable info rather than "a dude I know says", or "theres no way", etc. Thanks guys. I hope they dont kill it. I think it will be a mistake on their part but then again I just said "think".

Lexus recently filed a trademark patent for the name "RC-F" Recently as in a month ago or so. That's why people think the RCF will be the successor to the ISF and the ISF as it stands now will "technically" no longer be offered.

Well, if the RCF will replace the ISF, then this article is correct. The ISF is dead. The RC will just be another car, probably will have other variations, not just V8.

I wonder if they will ever return with a high powered inline 6 turbo motor.

I prefer V8 sound. I6 is nice and all, but it will never sound as beastly as V8.

There's a new IS F coming, just around the corner -- a year or so, Lexus says. Lexus also says that the car will take inspiration not from the regular IS F, nor the BMW M3 that it targets, but specifically from the IS-F Circuit Sports Club
