Suddenly the GT4 doesn't look like as much of a performance bargain by Porsche standards... I wonder if it'll get one of these turbos, heh. Doubt it, though. They might not even make anymore until the 981.2.
The new Ring lap time is just crazy. It's hard to believe that rear axle steering and 20 more hp would drop 10 damn seconds.

Our formula for success could not be more simple: more ideas per hp. Applied to the drive system of our cars, this means greater power output, but lower fuel consumption. This formula is also employed by the new 911 Carrera: thanks to their turbocharged engines offering immediate responsiveness, considerably more torque and even greater power output.

As far as a turbo finding its way into the GT4 - very unlikely. One of the (few) weaknesses of the midengine platform is that cooling is very difficult. Cooling was already an issue with turbocharging the M97.21 engine (987) according to the privateer Cayman racing teams, and Porsche apparently had to redo the front of the GT4 (including adding an additional cooling duct) just to have sufficient cooling for its engine. I'd have to think the new turbo engines will tax cooling far more than either of these.
I'll wait for the reviews, but I'm not optimistic.

I don't see it happening as it is not necessary. The NA GT3 got the 4.0 because that is the only way to get more power and torque from a maxed out NA motor.
The current 991.1 Turbo S is only running 1.2 bars to make 560 hp, all Porsche have to do is turn up the boost a little to make 600 hp. 1.2 bars is pretty low now a days on these direct injection engines, a regular stock F10 M5 is running 1.5 bars.

It is nothing but unconfirmed rumor. There was an internet thread from someone who met Andreas Preuninger and claimed that Preuninger said that PDK would be on the GT4 and an official announcement was imminent. (The date of the "imminent" announcement has since passed.) Naturally all the clickbait automotive "journalism" sites picked up the story and ran with it.
Given the GT4 is supposedly sold out to the end of current production, I doubt anything would happen before the next gen anyway.
