FAIL --- FRS does 0-60 in 6.2 seconds. http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...t/viewall.html
(LOL the Prius does 0-60 in about 9.x seconds )

I see what you mean about getting the 5300+ pound rig moving but the NX will not weigh nearly that much, this you don't need as much HP to achieve the same 0-60 time(s).

I forgot where I read it but a Lexus exec stated they do expect some cannibalization of RX sales but overall sales of both will be higher than just the RX by itself.

If Lexus nails the NX its scary how many they could potentially sell.

thats to be expected though. BMW used to just have the X5, X3 and X1 definitely took sales away, but it works cause not everyone wants a big X5.

Same thing with the RX. They need a Rav4 sized ute to really compete against small utes. RX is too big for some.

More and more small luxury utes are on their way including the new Lincoln MKC.

NX is definitely needed to compete in more segments that the RX, GX and LX can't compete in (be it smaller size or efficiency)

I don't know where you got that 5300 number. The RX350 only weighs 4,178 pounds.

The 5300lbs is the weight of the RX450h. Probably typed it wrong

The Lexus website says the RX450h weights 4,652 pounds. Maybe Whitigir is referring to the GVWR??

Glad I got a new Forester, that car looks a little too modern for me.

The ipad mini lowered margins for apple. Trying to get my post count up to 30, I see this post didn't help.

Oh...my bad LOLZ! I just realized that now. Hm...no wonder why RX350 is relatively fast on it feet.

By the way, that picture of the NX Look exactly like a Hatch-Back. I think I am going for the WRX STI Hatch soon. I have to replace my daily driver. Now, I can not wait for either the new WRX or the all new NX

What looks too modern? The NX test mule disguised as a CT, which will look nothing like the final product (NX)?

Apple's ipad mini is also trying to compete against the Nexus 7, Asus Memo 7, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab2 7, which sell for a lot less. They have the badge advantage, so they needed to be competitive, yet, not water down their brand.

Lexus NX would be competing against X1, Q5, GLK, which are are priced quite high for what you get due to their badge. All Lexus need to do there is to price slightly below par with those cars (as is their practice anyway) and let their reliability and reputation do the selling.

At least you contributed to the thread with an insightful comment to bring your post count up, rather than the same word repeated in 20 different threads. Welcome to the forum, keep this up and you will be a regular contributor in no time.

well, i have no idea why would they be testing raised CTh for NX...

or maybe it wont be Rav4 based? Or maybe some kind of rugged CTh as well? Like those A4 all-roads? Or maybe 2 crossovers? One smaller than Rav4?

So my manager just got off the phone with a Lexus product manager regarding a conversation about the NX. He looks at me and goes

It appears Lexus has some rethinking to do. The price of a fully loaded NX is a shade under $50,000.. Wait what? That's what I said. What's the point? That's RX territory. Manager goes outside, snaps some photos of the RDX and says $40,000 loaded.. It appears Lexus is calling dealers and asking what price they think the NX should move at. I'm no rocket scientist but a smaller ute pegged below your RX should not equal it in price. Suffice to say we should see a price decrease but both the manager and I were shaking our heads after the conversation.

Also the hybrid NX300h is pegged to bow 2nd/3rd quarter of 2014, and the turbo NX200t is sated for first quarter of 2015.

That's all the NX news I've heard today
