for an SUV, I think this is the worst design ever for a SUV.

suv is supposed to look somewhat rugged and tough.

but yet it still sells because it's a porsche.

That's a interesting assessment seeing how most SUVs lack "rugged and tough" design features...

In reality they have morphed into CUVs but classification is still under the SUV umbrella so it's still used as an interchangeable word when talking about CUVs. No different than someone saying they need a Kleenex when they mean Tissue.

I have no problem with the Cayenne or Macan because they are meant to be performance utes tackling primarily asphalt and concrete, typically being lower and wider than the traditional SUV, while still being able to perform light off roading, more so than AWD coupes and sedans

Porsche has a loyal consumer base and is growing every year. They don't have to make dramatic changes because it sells, sells, sells. They can stay true to the original design and pull it off well.

When I see any model Porsche, I can't tell what year it may be, and I don't care - it's a **** hauling Porsche!

I for one won't miss the base engine. I had one as a rental for a little over two weeks ago (until this past sunday), and it was the ideal combination of slow and bad fuel economy. But at the same time, I still had a great time driving it. It was comfortable, handled great for a vehicle of its size and was pretty engaging to drive. The exhaust actually sounded really good over 2800rpm or so also.

I don't know if we'll want another SUV when we replace the RX350 in the next 12-18 months....but if we do, the Cayenne makes the short list.

Eh, the only Porsches that interest me are the 911 and Cayman. Glad these things sell well so Porsche can continue building its real cars...

OP probably likes hummers and excursions..

and yes it sells because its a Porsche that and its very capable suv, whats wrong with that? Companies dream to have such recognition.

The money Porsche makes from the Cayenne is used to help develop cars like the 911 and 918, everyone wins..

Default Porsche Exclusive shows off their Cayenne S E-Hybrid

Features a number of styling tweaks

Porsche Exclusive has introduced a one-off Cayenne S E-Hybrid.

Dressed in Meteor Grey Metallic, the crossover has been equipped with tinted bi-xenon headlights and the SportDesign package. The model also has a sports exhaust system and 21-inch alloy wheels with a gloss black finish.

Moving on to the interior, there's black leather seats with green contrast stitching. The cabin also has embossed headrests, an aluminum shifter and black painted accents. Other notable highlights include carbon fiber sill plates and carbon fiber grab handles.

As you may recall, the Cayenne S E-Hybrid has a 3.0-liter V6 supercharged engine and an electric motor that produce a combined maximum output of 416 PS (306 kW) and 590 Nm (435 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, hit a top speed of 243 km/h (151 mph) and travel up to 36 km (22 miles) on electricity alone.
