Avalon + ES = 14k sales... so much for those people thinking Avalon will eat up Lexus sales :-).
RX is selling like crazy... 1 month supply of RX... Heck Lexus is down on inventory again... i guess they didnt expect these sales.

They all use companies that provide this kind of data... with much lower yen, seems like they are making nice money now.

The Camry lost the crown to the Altima (don't know about the Accord yet), a significant warning to Toyota to up the game of their bread-and-butter soon.

A great month for Lexus, though we'll need to see MB and BMW's sales to know if it's because luxury sales were generally up or if Lexus actually gained market share.

The Leaf as expected made huge gains once it was priced into the mainstream levels. Smart move on Nissan's part.
B/C Toyota is the largest and if they increase a lead, well they know they are #1. Camry has lost a month here and there, not the end of the world. I do MUCh prefer the Altima to the Camry, its not even a close comparison for me, the Altima looks just like an Infiniti but somehow I find the proportions to be really on the mark, I usually hate wavy/melted soap styling.

Let's get rid of it.

1880 GS with March incentives.
For the first time ever the Avalon outsold the ES. Just let the Avalon have it already and give the GS and the IS (when the 3IS arrives) the chance to shine. The sales of the 5-series and the E-Class are making the GS look silly even when the GS is just as good a car. Yes another month another debate on the same topic.

I'm sure Toyota HQ is very happy with the Avalon and ES sales numbers.I don't think the GS will outsell the 5 Series or E Class.Lexus is still #3 when it comes to the luxury badge.

You're mixing up the result with the cause. Lexus is #3 when it comes to the luxury badge because their sales is dominated by a not-so-premium model of the ES, not the other way around. If the ES is cancelled and the GS starts leading Lexus's car sales as it should I'll bet you that given some time the perception of the Lexus brand will start rising to a level that the GS will be able to sell neck-to-neck with the 5 and the E on merit.

Prior to the 4GS, I'd say that the GS was not engineered to be as good as the 5/E so the ES had to take on the task of maintaining Lexus's volume. Now that the 4GS is just as good a car as the 5/E if not better in some ways, the ES has finished its transitional mission. It is now time to make Lexus a truly premium brand. It may seem ridiculous given the popularity of the ES but it's also what's hindering Lexus's ability to step further forward. If Mr. Toyoda and Mr. Templin have any long-term vision for the Lexus brand they'd agree with me.

Subaru Reports March 2013 Sales As Best Sales Month In Company History
- March sales of 36,701 represent best-ever sales month for Subaru of America

http://www.prnewswire.com/news-relea...201067151.html

CHERRY HILL, N.J., April 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Subaru of America, Inc. today reported 36,701 vehicle sales for March 2013, which represents the best-ever sales month for the company and a 13 percent increase over March 2012. Year-to-date sales for Subaru total 92,527 – a 15 percent increase over the same period in 2012 and represent the best first quarter in company history.
These results build on strong sales from 2012 where Subaru achieved five consecutive years of sales increases and exceeded 300,000 annual sales in 2012 – a first in company history. During the 2013 New York International Auto Show, Subaru achieved another company first when it introduced the XV Crosstrek Hybrid, the brand's first-ever hybrid vehicle.
BRZ sales were notably strong as were sales of the all-new 2014 Forester.
The XV Crosstrek Hybrid is based on the popular XV Crosstrek crossover that achieved 4688 sales in March 2013 and 10,710 year-to-date sales. The 2014 XV Crosstrek Hybrid is the most fuel-efficient all wheel drive crossover in America. It will go on sale in the fall.
"We are pleased to see our sales growth continue and surpass the records we set last year," said Thomas J. Doll , president and chief operating officer, Subaru of America, Inc. "Subaru offers customers uncompromising driving performance and green capabilities. It is a winning combination that will continue to drive sales."

MONTVALE, N.J., April 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) today reported the highest first quarter sales volume in its history. March was another record month with sales of 24,646 for its Mercedes-Benz models, a 6.5% increase over March 2012, resulting in year-to-date sales of 69,187, up 12.5%. (Logo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20100901/NY58315LOGO)
"We're coming out of our highest first quarter on record—and that's before launching a single new product," said Steve Cannon , president and CEO of MBUSA. "With completely redesigned E-Class models arriving at dealerships, a next generation S-Class and a new entry point for the brand—the CLA—in the wings, we're looking at our strongest year on record."
Mercedes-Benz March sales were driven by the C-, E-, and M-Class model lines. The sporty C-Class – the current gateway to the brand on the car side for younger and first-time Mercedes-Benz buyers – took the lead, posting sales of 8,396, up 32.4%. The 9th generation E-Class followed with sales of 4,009 and MBUSA's top-selling SUV, the M-Class, rounded out the top three with sales of 3,501. At the high-end, strong performers were the company's flagship S-Class, which saw 24.0% growth, and the SL-Class, which increased 790.5% over March 2012.
On a year-to-date basis, the top performers again were the C-Class with 22,912, the E-Class with 13,689 and the M-Class with 9,162.
The Sprinter model line also continued its record sales streak in March with 1,529 vans sold – up 11.2% over last year and up 22.5% on a year-to-date basis, while the company's smart brand recorded sales of 929 vehicles.
Sales of the high-performance AMG models were 631 for the month and sales of the company's BlueTEC diesel models finished the month at 1,640, up 2.4% over the same period last year.
Separately, through the Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned (MBCPO) program, MBUSA sold 8,670 vehicles in March; an increase of 24% when compared to March 2012 (sales of 6,994 vehicles). On a year-to-date basis, MBCPO sold 24,370 vehicles, an increase of 22% over the comparable period (with sales of 19,924 vehicles).

Post Honda/Acura

American Honda today reported March 2013 U.S. sales of 136,038 units, an increase of 7.1% compared with March 2012 (up 11.1% based on the Daily Selling Rate, or DSR*). The Honda brand posted March 2013 sales of 121,938 units, an increase of 5.3% compared with March 2012. Acura U.S. March sales of 14,100 units increased 26.3% compared with March 2012.

Honda
The award-winning new Accord continues to rack up impressive sales numbers, trumping the segment in retail sales, up 36.4% from last March with sales of 36,504 units
The Civic was the Honda brand's 2ndbest-selling model, posting March sales of 27,665
The redesigned 2013 Crosstour sees 3rd consecutive month of sales growth, and along with Pilot, each model enjoyed sales gains of more than 11% from last March
"Our core models, Civic, Accord, CR-V and Odyssey, continue to lead the industry where it counts, in retail sales," said John Mendel, executive vice president of Sales at American Honda. "It's particularly rewarding to see Accord and Civic winning new customers against a headwind of competitor incentives and value-reducing fleet sales."

Acura
RDX sets its 11th-consecutive monthly sales record, up 284.8% from last March, and is the top-selling Acura model in March with sales of 3,875 units
Sales of the all-new flagship RLX sedan, which went on-sale March 15, are off to a solid start with 336 units sold
TL was the top selling Acura sedan in March with sales of 3,080 units, ILX sales continue to bolster Acura totals with sales of 2,059 units

"As we close in on a full year of sales, it's clear that the RDX is an undisputed success,"
said Jeff Conrad, vice president and general manager of Acura Sales. "With the all-new RLX off to a great start and a redesigned MDX coming soon, expect great things from Acura this year."
