Default 2014 Acura MDX Unveiled

The production version of the all-new 2014 Acura MDX will be unveiled today, at the 2013 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS), which will further cement the model's position as the benchmark in the three-row luxury SUV category. Utilizing a completely new platform that has been optimized in every respect, the seven-passenger MDX will offer enhanced ride comfort, a more versatile cabin, and increased fuel efficiency, while also improving dynamic performance.

The new third-generation 2014 Acura MDX is equipped with a highly efficient direct-injected 3.5-liter i-VTEC V-6 engine with Variable Cylinder Management (VCM), and will be offered in both SH-AWD and 2-wheel-drive drivetrain variants, the latter configuration being a first for the model. The 2014 MDX features a longer wheelbase that raises ride quality, increases second-row legroom, and improves third-row seat access. In addition, the 2014 Acura MDX harnesses a collection of Acura signature technologies, including the next-generation of the AcuraLink® Connectivity System and Jewel Eye™ LED headlamps.

The 2014 MDX offers a collection of innovative driver assistive and visibility technologies such as the Multi-Angle Rearview Camera and the available Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow, and Blind Spot Information (BSI). The third-generation MDX is also equipped with a broad array of advanced safety technologies, including the next generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ II (ACE™ II) body structure and the available Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW) systems. Further, the 2014 MDX is expected to achieve top-level safety ratings, including a 5-star Overall Vehicle Score from the NHTSA and a TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating from the IIHS.

Wow is that boring. Really dig the double display in the center stack though.

I don't think it's that bad. Typical Acura spaceship looks on the interior and Audi SUV influence on the rear view exterior

Looks like something that belongs in a cr-v. It's really bad in that pic. Exterior is super safe but I think adding those 800 headlights to a beak just makes my eyes cringe.

Looking at the new highlander this seems on par with it and not obviously better. Not good.

Lots and lots of plastic. I like the new Highlander much better, inside and out.

That double din screen helps alleviate the "sea of tiny buttons" that the last MDX had.

Losing hp has me uninterested. Not that the exterior had me either

underwhelming !!!! I actually think the last version looked better . The interior is not very impressive because its pretty much the sam design as the last. Why is it that Acura is having so many issues with design and product development ? The cars get uglier and less inspiring by the year. We had a TL back in the day but I dont think I would ever return to the brand. Not that it was a bad car, but it just wasnt as appealing as the other competitors

I actually think the RDX looks better. It doesn't have the chunky look that the MDX has. RDX looks sleeker and more athletic
