The new Accords I've seen do not have the vertical portion of the LED lit up. So far, no confusion with Lexus on my part.

You most likely are not looking at the new coupes. The sedans lack the vertical portion to make a checkmark. One time, at night, i saw some lady driving the 2013 V6 accord coupe with ONLY the DRLs running. They looked exactly like a GS. I was sorely disappointed when i realized the true identity.

If however, you are looking at a coupe with no vertical lights lit up, you might wanna point them out to the nearst Honda dealer.

I've seen the V6 Accord Coupe's LED DRLs in person and they look identical to the standard Lexus LED DRLs. It does achieve the effect of giving the car more bling, but at the same time I think it's beyond imitation and more like lazy design.

I agree, the coupe's LED's do look identical to Lexus's............when they're not lit. IMO, the Honda looks much better when they're lit.

Well, I for one, am quickly tiring of the LED DRL fad as a whole. It's just one more element for designers to over-design.

What strikes me about the Accord, and I do think it's a sharp looking car, is that it looks better than anything Acura currently sells... and that includes the top-line RLX which looks like a plus size Accord... only not as pretty.

I just saw a brand new GS F-Sport earlier, and in the foggy morning, the LED checkmark looked amazing, and useful too. Doesn't look tacky to me at all.

How so? In my honest opinion, all LED DRL strips look near identical, with the exception of the tubes and Kia's wierdly shaped designs.

I'd find it hard to tell which car they belong to in pitch darkness if the rest of the car's front fascia isn't shown.

I thought this too. I haven't seen one from the inside, but the exterior is a lot more balanced than the current TL and much better looking than the outgoing Accord. I really disliked the 2003+ rear end on those cars. I noticed it was something they tried to fix by issuing 3 different "mid" model year refreshes that completely changed the tail lamp design.

I think the post was commenting on how the LEDs looked tacky when plopped onto non-luxury brand vehicles.
