Lowered 2014 Mazda6 on 20s, IMO a beauty

Mazda 6 for the win.
There are only a few D-segment vehicles out there in the world that look really stunning. This new Mazda 6 Atenza is definitely one of them =)

been seeing this car on the road and loving the profile of the long hood and snouty grille.Looks really good.
it's basically the same size as the lexus Es and Gs, and looks bigger than the accord sonata and optima.
I gotta say I'm really impressed with this car. Why pay 45k for a lexus ES when u can get this fully loaded for 30k.

I'll be the only one who doesn't like it. Car is too round and swoopy above the big wheels. This takes away from the wheels filling in the wells, as if the body melted on the axles and the wheels are bending the fenders upward. I like straight-shouldered sedans lowered, like the IS. One big clean block, but the body keeps it's shape as it sinks into the wheels. Just a personal preference.

Meh.
Those rims don't do anything for me.
It looks better because it's dropped, not because of those rims.
And I think the new 6 looks good, but not great. I think it's going to get lost in the crowd in just a few years, just like all the other 6s that started out looking "refreshing"....and then within 2 years, it's ho-hum.
That interior is quite stark to me, not all that engaging.
Great driving characteristics will only get you so far....because the target audience for this segment is not great driving characteristics. It's high content, reliability, plushness with a little added oomph! for performance. Mazda's still hoping that grown-up boy-racers will buy their cars for they dynamics, and some will. But most of those grown-up boy-racers will make decisions based upon their wives, who will just want room, safety features and some luxury options....and the men will choose the larger more powerful, quieter engine.
The new Mazda 6 has a small engine and not a lot of features. That's a lose-lose in many households.
This car will not sell well, just like most other 6s.
Nice car, but Mazda is just missing the mark. Not many Miata-type owners are looking for Miata-type sedans unfortunately....as I bet a lot of Miata owners own plush sedans to compliment their weekend toys. Most don't need their sedans to double as both.
And let's face it, all those in here who say they love it....aren't buying it. Because most of us are not the target audience.

LOL It is nice. I just don't think it's nice enough. We'll see.
It does have some nice lines, subtely athletic for a sedan. But the last 6, most of us said the same thing. And within 2 years, it was lost in the crowd. I fear the same will happen with this one, unless they bring a "game-changer" engine, like a diesel. And they'll have to move the potential features up a notch or two....or Camry and Accord (and even the new Malibu) will outsell it by the droves.
