Lexus Champion
A couple of months ago, before the new 6 hit the market, some dealerships a had a unit on the sales floor, not for sale, for people to look at. The interior on the Grand Touring model that I looked at had a nice interior including contrast stitching on the leather surfaces. It seemed nice/competitive for the segment.

Saw this pic on FB and it looks stunningly good. I hope people buy this car based on looks alone. With a simply drop and wheels this looks fantastic to me without looking like a copy of much anything else, they have a nice design language going.
Seems they start around 23k and 30k loaded but only one engine, a 4 cylinder. I think its a really nice car and going to check it out.
Great job Mazda!

Pole Position
Mazda 6 is great, especially up close... on the road from few hundred meters, kind of isnt noticable that much... but once you come closer to check it out, it is really nice... half up there to the premium class.
of course, once you start probing and touching inside, it is not that great but overall it is nice... better interior quality than more expensive CX-5 for instance.

a set of wheels and a drop will do wonders for pretty much everything, BUT this example looks especially good. I think Mazda will sell a ton of these

The look of the mazda 6 was never the problem. The problem is everything else, from the poor driving characteristics to the lack of power, to the not so awesome MPGs,etc. Always been the case with Mazda products.

your head is pretty much inches away from the windshield.
I think it feels a tad claustrophobic.
the front overhang is still long like other fwd cars.

I've always had an affinity for Mazda's. A very underated car company. I like how they always put a dose of sports car in everything they build. I've owned an FC RX-7 and my Brother-inlaw a Miata, both very fun and capable machines. I respect Mazda's philosophy and their grassroots. I'm loving this new 6, a perfect platform to bring back the AWD Turbo MazdaSpeed6 beast. Hope they bring the rotary back in some shape or form.
