The new Accord gives nearly no reason for Acura and shames the ILX....

ILX needs SH-AWD, a real Type-S, navi on the 6M, and more panache

Agreed. Honda may have just shot themselves in the foot with the new Accord as it makes Acura's pricing look really
silly. The Accord really is that good. Honda nailed it out of the ball park this time. It's taken the crown of nearly every
comparo it's been in. I've always been a Honda guy and I can't tell you how glad I am that the Accord is back on track.

A few months ago Consumer Reports road tested a Verano (non-turbo) and a ILX and gave the Acura higher scores overall. To date the Verano's reliability has been below average.

I agree that there are probably better choices out there in the compact sedan segment.

Well a better alternative to the ILX would be a Civic Si, since it's almost the same car. The Accord is a family sedan. I guess it would be an alternative to a TL.

That was my thought when the first Acura EL was introduced here in Canada in 1996. It seemed to be a dressed up Gen6 Civic with just different grille and taillights (same body as the Civic so you could not tell if it was a Civic or EL from a distance). Why get a leathered-up Civic when you could get an Accord for the same price?

That has been my thought as the EL progressed through the Gen7 Civic, the Gen8 Civic and name-change to CSX, and now the ILX (which at least has a different body from the Civic).

Why get a tarted-up Civic when you can get an Accord for the same price?
