First Drive: 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA250 Sport

This is a soulless car for soulless people, even the AMG one is not that great. So much for bearing the legendary nameplate. M235 will trash this car everywhere. Well good for MB if they sell tons of these, but they are ugly and boring. While I was considering a sedan last month, TLX was at the button of the list "was planning to wait to test drive first", this was car was no where in the list. It's just that bad.

Amazingly, Mercedes figured out how to build a car in 2014 that starts at under $30k. For that price, consumers are jumping all over the badge, nothing more. But, if that's what makes it popular, so be it. After seeing them in person, no thanks. That thing is ugly. (IMO)

The front of this car is quite regal but the rear needs room for improvement. I still think its a better value than the A3 which is essentially guised up Jetta. At least this is a bespoke chassis and comes with a decent power train. The A3 1.8T is crap...
