Consumer Reports comments that this car is for people looking for "cheap" luxury. Like when you see a line of people at the door of a Coach Outlet.

While I was considering a sedan last month, TLX was at the button of the list "was planning to wait to test drive first", this was car was no where in the list. It's just that bad.
Why would you even bring up the M235i? It starts at $43k and is a 2-door.

Amazingly, Mercedes figured out how to build a car in 2014 that starts at under $30k. For that price, consumers are jumping all over the badge, nothing more. But, if that's what makes it popular, so be it. After seeing them in person, no thanks. That thing is ugly. (IMO)

The front of this car is quite regal but the rear needs room for improvement. I still think its a better value than the A3 which is essentially guised up Jetta. At least this is a bespoke chassis and comes with a decent power train. The A3 1.8T is crap...

by stripping the hell out of it. No leather, no HID, almost everything you would want is an option. A decently optioned CLA becomes near 40k
