The door panel looks really cheap, and what's up with the dual stage arm rest they've got going on:

Center stack looks like it could be out of any Chevy or stylized mainstream car:

At least the dash is stitched, but even from their press photo the stitching quality doesn't look to be that good.

Compared to say...you guessed it:

Shape is handsome, but from this angle it could be anything, shame that Ian Callum insists on discarding Jaguar's unique heritage based styling for mainstream generic design:

Side profile is very similar to the G8:

Headlights are dead ringer for the F30 3 series.

Interesting how red is also the launch color for the XE, as it was for the F30.

Those are my notes on it. Overall though handsome car with a confident face and some cool technology. But I'll wait to see it in the real world, these photogenic european cars usually fall flat in the real world.

anyone noticed that the C pillar also has that blackout fake part, ala 15 camry though not as bad?

Also I can't really make out the two tiered switches. It looks like the window switches and mirror adjustment is on the top, given by the dongle for the mirror adjustment sticking up. What could possibly be on the bottom tier

Also is there confirmation on the price? Reports are saying base at 43K which I am not sure how accurate. Unless that is the price of the S model, I can't see how this can compete with the new C class

Not really the same type of black c-pillar treatment as the Camry. The Camry's is on the pillar itself, the XE is still part of the overall door.

Bottom tier buttons look like memory seat buttons. M and then 1-2-3, etc. and Door Lock/Unlock

Exterior is ok - i like the first 3/4 of the car, but not the rear.

Interior is Dated....looks like a Buick interior.

Not sure y Jaguar didnt go all out on this design as they did on XJ and Ftype.
They played way too safe to attract more sales but I doubt that will be the result.

Everyone is obsessed

A car is a car and will look like other cars

Quite disappointing. It does not have enough styling pizzazz to last a full term. Grille shape is ordinary and dated, like a Mercury Sable or older Buick. Back end is styled after first gen Acura TSX (dated). Dash is boring and dated- no better than a run of the mill Ford Fusion. Door panels look cheap and unfinished, there's no trunk to make the car seem bigger and better than a compact sedan, and the base wheels are sure to make it all look worse. I would have hoped they learned from the failed S and X-types of 2000, but I guess not. Yet another precious and costly missed opportunity by another car maker.

wow... i didnt know they blocked out part of the door frame to make it look different... it is all new vehicle, why do that? Crazy. Well, so many people complained about it on Camry...

As to the doors, I guess it is quirky and people will get over it, but it is stupid thats for sure, I use my windows a lot more than door locks, so it is pretty inconvenient.

Wow lots of hate...I for one LOVE this. I would wait 2-3 years though for Jaguar to iron out the bugs, just not too convinced of Jag's newfound reliability. But definitely on my radar for my replacement for my IS350 down the road. Still leaning on a 3is though. Maybe the new IS200t if it comes out.

camry treatment is way way worse.

the jag uses tricks to incorporate a the window kink. Yes, part of the tiny window is obscured. But tinting should solve it.

Believe it or not its been almost seven years since introduction of Jaguar design language setter C-XF concept. Since then very little has changed or evolved in Jaguar four door lineup and that will bite them.

Who would have said ten years ago that Lexus will be a textbook example of exterior design evolution. Spindle grill and rest of the design is evolving with every model and not looking back at all. Same theme but it just gets better with every iteration.
