Default Jaguar 3 Series-fighter to spawn coupe, wagon

Jaguar 3 Series-fighter to spawn coupe, wagon

With its sights set on the BMW 3 Series, Jaguar could be planning a full range of models for its upcoming entry-level car – possibly called the XS. We've already seen spy shots of the four-door version of this all-aluminum baby Jag, but according to Auto Express, the automaker will also offer the car in coupe and wagon variants.

The XS sedan should hit the market in 2015, and the coupe and wagon models are expected soon after that. Speaking with Jag's global brand director Adrian Hallmark, AE says that the XS will be focused on styling with a design similar to the recently introduced C-X17 crossover concept. Hallmark also said that the addition of the XS lineup could help Jaguar double its sales, which were at 357,773 global units in 2012

Default Jaguar XS shows production body in latest spy photos

Should be unveiled later this year

Jaguar's baby sedan has been grabbed on camera for the first time wearing a production body.

Up until now spy photos showed us XS body mules looking like the XF but today we get the chance to see Jaguar's entry-level sedan fitted with the production body while testing on UK roads. Internally known as the X760, the new model will ride on the firm's iQ[Al] platform and will come with shorter front and rear overhangs along with a more compact body to go up against the BMW 3-Series, Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Lexus IS and other similar models in this segment.

The spiritual successor of the X-Type will receive a generous engine family that will include a high-output unit enabling the model to reach a maximum speed of 186 mph (300 km/h). The British marque is also allegedly planning a frugal variant that will have less than 100 g/km of CO2 emissions.

The latest report refers to a summer reveal of the XS (name not confirmed) while deliveries are expected to commence at the beginning of 2015.

Default Jaguar Teases and Names New XE Sedan as BMW 3-Series Rival [w/Video]

Click here to view more photos

It’s now official: Jaguar’s new BMW 3-Series, Cadillac ATS and Lexus IS rival will be called the XE. Set to be revealed in the coming months, the car features an aluminium monocoque construction (the first in the segment) and promises to be the most advanced, efficient and refined in its class.

Power for this new sedan, originally believed to bear the name XS, will come from a new series of UK-built enignes called Ingenium. These petrol or diesel units all displace two liters, they’re all turbocharged and the most frugal of them all promise sub-100 g/km CO2.

Other, more powerful engines will be offered, though, as Jaguar mentioned that the car is designed to achieve speeds in excess of 300 km/h (186 mph), so the BMW M3 and upcoming C-Class AMG had better watch out for the future XER.

Speaking at the Geneva Auto Show, Jaguar-Land Rover CEO Ralf Speth, mentioned: "We announced just a few weeks ago that our new Engine Manufacturing Centre would produce a new family of premium, lightweight, low-friction, low emission four-cylinder petrol and diesel units. The first of our Ingenium engine range will be used in our all-new mid-sized Jaguar sports sedan. That car will be called the Jaguar XE, and it will be unveiled in production form later this year."

Full specs “will be announced later in 2014. The global roll-out will begin from mid-2015.” It won’t be shown this year in Geneva.

I think so too, for starters, this car is built off a proper platform, whereas the X-Type came from an old Ford Mondeo I believe.

Default Jaguar Confirms F-Type's Supercharged V6 for New XE Sedan

In a second move after announcing the name and revealing the face of its new XE compact executive sedan during the 2014 Geneva motor show in early March, Jaguar is now promoting the launch through its consumer websites, with the UK page also confirming the availability of its latest supercharged V6 engines.

"The XE features a range of engine capacities and outputs for different drivers, including the F-TYPE’s roaring V6, all built at our new facility in the UK," reads the page.

Jaguar didn't elaborate on whether the XE would get both or one of the two versions of the F-Type's 3.0-liter Supercharged V6 mills, rated for 335hp (340PS / 250kW) and 375hp (380PS / 280kW) respectively.

Besides the V6, we know that the XE will also be offered with the Jaguar-Land Rover Group's upcoming four-cylinder petrol and diesel engine family called Ingenium.

On its consumer website, the British firm states: "Choose either the outright performance of 300km/h [186mph] top speeds or emissions of less than 100g of CO2 per km."

The new Jaguar XE is scheduled for release next year and will take on rivals like the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, Cadillac ATS, Lexus IS and Mercedes C-Class.

Yep, Turbo 4 and Super 6 were no doubt gracing the littlest Jag. My desire is to see a R variant

I imagine the commercials full of beautiful people just saying the name.

X E.

X E.

Eeeexxsss Eeeee....

And then there is some sort of collective orgasm and desire to buy the car.
