I think it's pretty attractive. Then again, i'm a "lights" guy 
I actually expected Lexus to illuminate their L first, because the CT had illuminated door sills. For those who don't know, the Lexus brand would be stamped in clear lettering on the bottom door sill and when the doors open, the Lexus name would emit a bluish purple light. Tacky to some, but pretty cool to me.

We had a design exercise for Mitsubishi start up sequence over 6 years ago where the three diamonds would glow up and light would travel from diamonds over straight bar of the grill to both headlights and then headlights would turn on. That was supposed to happen each time you start up the car if headlight turn **** was left switched on. Mitsubishi at the time didn't have automatic headlights but it had automatic headlight cut off when you take out the key out of the ignition. Anyway like anything with Mitsu they never bothered to bring anything like that to the market.

the white star emblem is lighted only when the car is stationary. The "Illuminated Star" shines when the car is unlocked or the engine is stopped
