Hyundai 2.0 or 3.8 Genesis R-spec Coupe?
Which one? Talked to a bud just now about checking them out, he likes it a lot and is going back and forth between the two. I told him 3.8 if he's not going to mod the engine. Packages seem the same with main difference being the engine (or am I wrong). initially was looking at base but swayed him towards that bbk
Also looking at the loaded Track but its 35k MSRP and thats nuts to me. If you can add some input/experience that would be cool, thanks.
For between 26-29k I think its a really good buy.

A younger finance manger at work just bought a 2013 3.8. It's nice, but despite the awesome numbers, my 350 is slightly faster due to weight, gearing. Also I don't like the post gaping mouth grill, pre facelift looked much better. Another older finance manager also just bought a S5 vert hah.

I've driven the pre-facelift 3.8 V6 version with automatic........and my god, it's a blast.
Be advised though. Unlike the GS350 F-sport with a very linear and gradual throttle pedal response, stepping on the accelerator pedal of the Genesis Coupe V6 hard really gives you a kick in the nuts and catches you off guard. It's like a sudden jolt indeed coming from 1st gear. Hence, it's importantly to be careful (especially during extreme stop-and-go traffic)
The 6-speed auto works well in this car.......so I can only imagine that the 8-speeder would not fall short of it (and may in fact exceed the 6AT unit).
Either way, this is an awesome car for what it's worth. It's one of those mass-market sports cars that gives you relatively massive performance without a causing massive damage to your bank account.

Yeah he likes the blue but I chose red.... The car is not going to be a track or ripper, just some nice stylish transportation at a good price and will be brought to car events.

I did a full-review on the last-generation 3.8 Track Coupe model with automatic, and, like Blackraven, found driving it a blast. It had plenty of instant power, lightning-quick shifts from the paddles, right-now mush-free brakes, very quick steering-response, and almost BMW 3-series steering/road-feel. I don't see why the latest version would be much, if any different.
I agree, BTW, it is a bargain for the price.

Picked this up for my daily driver....2.0T R-Spec 6spd. for 26k Getting ready for a canned tune ECU Upgrade $750 which provides 292 rwhp with 339 torque with "0" mods. The 2.0 T motor is a torque machine and definitely the best value. I drive this thing year round back and forth to work and love it. Great coupe for an ex NFL sized man....
For a value proposition and ability to run sub 5 sec 0-60 with less than $1k worth of mods, tell him to get the Turbo.
Rims on a fellow Gencoupe memebers grey....

So unfair...... i'd have to spend ~$10k to get an additional 100hp/60tq
