Been eyeing a 3.8 Genesis myself but I also like the IS350C F-Sport as I like retractable hardtops. To bad the F-Sport model is so hard to find!

Really, your IS350 can spank a 350 hp Genesis? Wow I would have guess otherwise.

But I do see Hyundai tend to be slower then their specs suggest, maybe they are lying a little.

Took a Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track with 6speed manual for a test drive Saturday and while it was fast I did not feel the power that puts you back in the seat like I feel from my SL55. I hated the ride of the track version but then again I am spoiled by my SL55. I am going to test drive a 2011 IS350c this weekend and I bet I will like the ride of that car..... Or at least I am hoping I do.

Well I didn't say spank. Just the factors like gearing and weight I mentioned above. Just the other night we found an empty new development and ran two digs. Both times I ended up a car length ahead. Ran close to 70mph before shutting down. Now if this were a roll, I believe the extra torque and gearing in the Genesis Coupe would beat the IS at higher speeds.

I'm not the biggest fan of Hyundai simply because of their "fluff". Like you say, the claims are good on paper but real world just doesn't translate well.

uh, no kidding.

the sl55 has one of the world's most sophisticated active suspensions. the, uh, genesis, does not.

the sl55 has a hot v8. the genesis, does not.

maybe you'll compare the genesis to a porsche gt3 next.

If I can get a hold of a gt3 I will!

I really do like the looks of the Genesis coupe and it has more then enough power for me... And the electronic features blow away my antiquated 2005 SL55 electronics, but with my old age comes a bad back and I need the smoothest ride I can get.

I did decide to go ahead and purchase a 2011 IS 350C and will be picking it up on Friday. No more 500 ponies to send me into the back of my seat....

I thought the same...

Purchased my Genesis coupe as an extremely attractive "cheap" DD with some light mod potential.

For a 26k car IMO it leads the pack in its 2dr coupesegment..

I test drove a Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track with 6speed manual also, while it was fast I did not feel the power that puts you back in the seat like my LaFerrari, it didn't handle nearly as well either. Strange, I was expecting them to be the same. I should compare the Genesis to my Mclaren P1 next time, should be a better comparison.

^ lmao.....

I had a 3.8 Track that I drove around for a few weeks, dealer car, and I was pretty impressed with it. Fun little car for the money.
