Why on earth would anyone buy a loaded accord over this???
Because the loaded Accord have 12 miles on it, this one got 9771 miles.

I would buy a mint condition RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD with 20k miles for $10k though, that would be a decent deal.

so ok, fine -- why would you ever buy a new loaded Accord over a low mile loaded certified RLX with a better warranty?

Let's call a spade a spade. The exterior is boring and Acura does not have the brand cache to support a $60k car. That's why it isn't selling. I'm not hating on Acura. I owned an '04 TL (great car) and an '05 RL (boring car but Acura gave me a great deal on my '04 TL). The RL stuck around for about 6 months.

That's better, indeed a valid statement

The reason? Umm, not gonna say it to offend all the new car's buyers

Just realized (I am getting old, can't remember all these specs anymore ), the current $60k RLX is still only FWD, even with the same 6-speeds auto from the Accord. I think you are mistaken the AWS (all wheel steering) with AWD (all wheel drive). Size wise, the current Accord is humongous, not gonna go compare dimensions, but it is the same or aren't much smaller then the RLX. I remember the last RL was actually smaller then the Accord.

The AWD is only available on the Sport Hybrid SH-AWD, that one is $70k+.

BTW, why is the RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD not selling yet? They announced that a long time ago, they must be having issue with the brand new high performance hybrid system.

Yes some of my comments are levity

Actually on the original NSX it is not that farfetch since the engine is transversely mounted with the tranny mounted on the side, just like the Accord. It is really the entire FWD drivetrain moved from in front of the cabin to behind the cabin, the tranny is even mounted on the same left side.

I know a guy who owns 10 of those NSXs hated me everytime I said that

The original NSX shared nothing with the Accord, they did not just take the Accord fwd drive train and move it to the back. They mounted it transversely for packaging/balance/design reasons. There have been other exotics/sports cars like the Lamborghini Miura, Lancia Stratos, Lotus Evora, BMW i8 that had rear engines mounted transversely and did not share drivetrains with fwd cars.

I know, that was levity

Btw, the drivetrain from the Evora is directly from a Camry, motor and tranny, Lotus just added a TRD blower.

Same with the Lotus Elise, motor and tranny (2ZZ/6MT) directly from the Corolla XRS, very little changed, Lotus just did a more aggressive ECU map.

I didn't know as I didn't care about the i8 3 bangers, I just looked it up as I knew it must be shared and based on some FWD crapboxes.

The B38 1.5L 3 bangers in the i8 is shared and based on the 3 bangers in the Mini Cooper and BMW 218i, both FWD. The i8 just got higher boost and aggressive tune.

I've separated the most recent post regarding the 2016 RLX to its own thread. Feel free to continue disccusion there. This thread regarding a 2014 test drive of the RLX is no longer relevant.
