Surprised to see Porsche and Mercedes in the top 5. I've never owned either, but always thought of them to be on the slightly unreliable side of things - especially when compared to Honda and Toyota (who are not in the top 5).

Some Mercedes models are reliable. My dad has a 1999 mercedes CLK. engine is still smooth after 120000 Km.( km because he is in japan.). that car never broke down on him.
That is good to know... My dad had an ML320 that seemed like it was in the shop more than it was on the road. It was eventually so bad that he convinced the dealer to let him trade up to a newer model for next to nothing... but I suppose that is not a complete representation of the brand as a whole.
Saw this today! My wife and I were joking because my car is a dodge and its at the bottom of the list! Although mine is a little bit of a Frankenstein car because of the swap. But I am glad she is in a Lexus.
very interesting indeed. suprised to see some brands such as infiniti/nissan so far on the list. This also confirms what my mechanic has been telling me, stay away from Audi and VW that are out of warranty!
I'm surprised that it's #1 even with all the recalls that have been going on over the past years. I guess that goes to show that it's still more reliable than other makes.

All in all, Toyota is still reliable compared to other makes definitely.
Reason why my parents refuse to get anything else. (They are on their 3rd one) Other two were just sold or given away.
