Texting wasn't a problem in this picture. Here's a link.

Regardless, don't text and drive!

^^^

Thank you for the clarification.

But the "Don't Text and Drive" lesson is, of course, no less important.

Should we add don't instagram/facebook/tweet while driving to the list?

But seriously, this makes me cringe. With all of the iPod/iPhone integration in cars now and aux jacks, it adds to the temptation to play with a phone whilst driving... whatever the text/tweet/song-change might be, it's not as important as your own life.

I agree that this is a great picture to depict for NO TEXTING/PLAYING WITH PHONE WHILE DRIVING.

Regardless, this driver was NOT PAYING ATTENTION (unless he passed out from a medically related condition).

However, people don't care b/c "it will never happen to me"

Part of his head is on the rear door of that semi truck.

Which brings me to another point that pisses me off. For as strict as our federal government is on automobile safety, they have totally ignored the rear end of semi truck trailers. Next time you are out on the road, look at how high that "bumper" is on a typical enclosed trailer, it hits a good foot or two above the bumper level of the typical car. Its a very dangerous design that hasn't changed since the 50's/60's. As this picture shows, its way too easy for one of these bumpers to hit at the windshield level, and given enough speed like the Corvette, result in decapitation.

Looks like the driver didn't even try to stop, no skid marks.
Here is another angle of the accident.

Guy was speeding through traffic, cut over to go around everyone and surprise a broken down big rig, he may have it the brakes but that took him down a few, several accidents like this happened around 2005
