Yup! Somehow Acura hasn't gotten that memo yet. As great as the RLX looks or may be, a 310 HP V6 is not cutting it. Especially when their mid level TL constantly betters it in every regard. Again much props to Lincoln as we look to see what else rolls down the pipelines. Hopefully they find a way to make the Navigator relevant again.

I actually think Lincoln will be ok. Ford has axed everything but their own Blue Oval and The LMC so this is a great opportunity of share technology and innovation but at the same time differentiate the two brands. I love to use the Toyota/Lexus playbook when it comes to this. Some platforms may share a chassis but materials and design are vastly different which is great. Would love to see a smaller sedan below the MKZ to do battle against 3, A, C etc. EcoBoost 2.0, 3.5, and a NA 5.0 would be icing on the cake

Lincoln MKC prototype spied out testing

As was the case with the Lincoln MKZ, it appears that Lincoln isn't wasting any time getting its newest model transformed from concept to production form. We just saw the MKC Concept earlier this year at the Detroit Auto Show, and based on these spy shots, it looks like the final touches are being put in place for the 2014 Lincoln MKC crossover.

Sharing its platform with the Ford Escape, we can definitely see some similarities between these two compact crossovers when it comes to the roofline and daylight opening, but through the heavy camouflage, Lincoln's signature split-wing grille can easily be seen and it looks like the concept's taillights will also make it to reality. On the disappointing side, it looks like the integrated exhaust outlets are being ditched for some round outlets, and we can't tell if the production version will keep the Audi-like clamshell rear liftgate.

When Lincoln pulled the wraps off the MKC Concept at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year, we said that the very attractive concept was going to closely mirror the production vehicle. With few exceptions, a clad prototype recently caught running on public roads seems to substantiate our statement.

From what the pictures reveal, the disguised Lincoln MKC production mule and show concept seem to share the same waistline with identical sculpting over the wheels. The midsection of the two also appear to match with the same flare and styling. The lower rockers have been cleaned up a bit, mainly to be more practical in the real world (the deep chisels on the show car would have collected mud and snow).

Taking a look at the exposed front bumper, we see a very similar lower fascia complete wtih the metal skid plate on the chin. The window profile also seems to match the concept, though we're still unclear exactly how that C- and D-pillar section is going to look. Of course, and it always seems to be the case when concepts evolve into production vehicles, the MKC gains four normal door handles, standard-sized mirrors and a slightly smaller wheel/tire package. We expect the production version of the Lincoln MKC to debut later this year.

there are too many cookie cutter suv designs out there and this one is so different and so hot looking. wow.

the current RX lexus suv looks so odd. and uglier and uglier as time goes by.

that waterfall grill though, sometimes i really like it but sometimes it's kinda odd.

it doesn't have that menacing look that the newer mercedes grilles have.

People love these things and nothing proves it more than seeing the RDX sell so well and its like a vehicle that could have debuted ten years ago. I think Lincoln will have a big hit and volume seller here.
