I was talking about refinement and highend material, the SC's interior feels like the LS. Where the G interior feels like an ES at best.
Look dated or not, is personal. I prefer dated highend then the latest low rent.
I agreed the G interior looks fantastic from 5 feet away with the door opened, I love it as long as I don't have to drive it.

do love the wood on an sc430 though and a highly modded one can look great outside, especially ditching the rims.

besides both being hard top convertibles, there's really nothing very similar about them. the sc430 is cruiser (not sporty at all, but comfy), and this g37 is sporty (and not comfy at all apparently, lol).
yeah that cassette player on the SC is really high end.

And the Cassette Player was relevant when the car debuted back in 2001, over a decade ago.

For folks who don't get it, the G Vert is a direct competitor to the IS350C............that is a much closer comparison.
That is Nissan's strategy, they are excellent at deception. They are very good at making their cars seem more then they actually are, they look big and fancy on the outside, but is poorly engineered with poor material, that's why they are lower price, well usually, not in this IPL Vert's case. Opposite of Lexus, small and conservative on the outside, excellent on the inside.

High cost of engineering + low volume sales = high price tag. Then consider the compromised characteristics of their rides: heavier, bulky, and front/rear imbalanced; you're not buying it for performance nor value: you're buying it because you want a tan.
If you list all the hardtop convertibles in the market: the IS-C, 3-Series, SLK, Z4: they're all priced near and above $50k, with the VW Eos and Chrysler 200 hardtop convertibles being FWD'ers on the list at $40k, and the SL being the only halo hardtop at $100k+, and the Ferrari California at $200k+.
None of these types of cars are cheap...

Pontiac G6 Convertible $29k (Miata hardtop is under $30k too I think, don't feel like looking it up).
Ferrari 458 Spider: $350k

Like I already mentioned the $61k pricing is very reasonable if it only comes fully loaded, which is very likely as I'm sure Infiniti isn't expecting to sell many of these either. It's about $4k cheaper than a comparably equipped IS350C. I don't get why some people keep comparing it to cars not in its class--coupes, sedans, soft-tops, etc.

It looks ok with the top down, but with it up the roof lines past the A pillar is just completely awkward.
Oh and hi my name is Johnson Johnson and I drive a Infiniti Infiniti PL G convertable.
