I drove one once and sort-of liked it. It's definitely a different sports sedan from the normal choices.

I always liked how these looked Never owned a Volvo or know anyone that can provide any feedback. I would just browse a few forums to see if there are any typical issues or complaints to watch out for.

Appreciate the feedback fellas. Not the biggest Volvo fan either however this one sort of sticks out from the rest. I'm going to try and test drive one, see what its all about.

I was a big fan of these, but could never quite get myself to pull the trigger on them.

Same here.
Looked at the S60's and the car is well built, quick, priced right w/discounting,free maintenance but like you said it's tough pulling the trigger.

Love the R, but reliability comes into question

If you can get the cost of repairs covered, then pull the trigger! The test drive should sell you. But I have a thing for volvos.

There is no manual option, and I don't believe there ever has been.

I have an s60 T6 (non R design) it's a great car. the link above shows a previous gen s60r, which is a different beast entirely. There are specific maintenance issues with that car, that need to be looked at. I suggest the swedespeed forums.

Are you blind sir? Pictures displayed show the 6spd trans.... Some C70's, normal S60's and other Volvo's came in stick shift too, anyway appreciate the feedback guys. I'll check out the swede forums.

No I am not blind, nor am I illiterate. A quick check of the spec sheet is all one needs:

T6 AWD R-Design
Starting at:
$44,100 MSRP
TRANSMISSION
Six-speed Geartronic Automatic Transmission
If you further check the options list, there are no configurable transmission options. Six-speed Auto is standard, and there is no other choice. They may offer a manual in other countries, but as you and I are both in the US (at least according to your profile), the US config is the only thing that matters.

I was actually considering the S60R to replace my old E46 until discovering that there was no manual option, so believe me, I've quite thoroughly researched this.
