WTF - so the Corolla itself won't be revealed, but the concept is instead?! /shakeshead

There are 3 kinds of concept cars you know, one that is so futuristic that no one will possibly confuse it with a production car and is used only to demonstrate certain design or technologies in the works, one that breaks new grounds for the automaker in certain aspects and is used to gauge public interests from the audience's reactions before committing it to production, and one that is simply a production car disguised as a concept car with some fancy parts in order to gain some marketing hype before the actual release. I'll bet you anything that this Furia "concept" is the latter of the 3, and that the production version will follow really, really soon.

Oh man, that sucks! I thought it was going to be a Spring '13 release! God knows, the present Corolla is soooooo outdated, it's not even funny anymore (and heavily discounted at that)...

yeah, but they sell craploads of them due to the price... in fact they have low inventories and their sales went up 20+% last year in NA.... thats probably why they slowed it down.

I just saw some being in the local newspaper selling for $13988 this past weekend, and thought it was a fire sale before the new model. Unfortunately, looks like this will solider on for another half-season...

Looks great from all angles!
However, it looks nothing like the Corolla spy shots caught earlier, or at least the profile doesn't. Wonder what model exactly the Furia will become in the end.
