They're going to offer FWD models for the first time.
The 3.5-liter i-VTEC SOHC V6 is promised to improve performance and fuel economy, but exact horsepower and torque numbers have not been released. The same engine is used in the Acura TL, where it delivers 280 hp and 254 lb-ft.

It looks nice enough, and it will sell well.
Don't try to act like Lexus is any better. They're all "bland" SUVs, and that's why they sell.
What did you expect? A swoopy SUV with small windows and creases everywhere?
"They didn't even try to change the shape" WHAT?
HOW MANY SHAPES can an SUV come in without decreasing its practicality and usefulness???
Just step back and take a breath, and come back down to earth for a minute.
Mercedes and BMW have not changed the shape of the x5 and M either.

P.S. SUVs from BMW, MB (except G wagon) and Audi are bland. Lexus GX is weird but not bland, and LX is not bland.

Frumpy, homely, deliberate new styling. Current model is more lithe and athletic.

I am on this forum as we have just purchased an ES300h for my wife, but I am on my third MDX. I used to drive GMC Yukons but in 2005 I wanted something slightly smaller with better gas mileage so I bought a used 2001 MDX to try it out. I liked it and then found a low mileage 2005 that I drove for five years and then got a 2011 MDX Advance. These are just solid vehicles and serve my needs well. The Advance has all the bells and whistles including two driving modes, and I enjoy the Sport mode on back roads. The one thing of disappointment is that the gas mileage of the 2011 is worse than the two previous models I have owned. As for the new model, I personally like it but not enough to run out and trade.
As for cino's comments above, we are probably the age of his parents, which is also why we chose the ES300h over the Infinity M. As my wife's brother works for Nissan, we could have purchased an M35 for about the same price as the 300h. The M was much more fun to drive (for me), but the 300h better suited our current needs.
