Not surprising. Look at how the BR-Z/FR-S is often driven. Most likely, in general, it is by the same type of crowd who, 10 years ago, was buying the 1.8L Celica GTS with the then-new VVT-i engine and abusing them by overstressing the engine even with its 8000+ RPM redline. I saw some of those ruined engines myself.....yes, by the Toyota Techs, just like you did with the BR-Z. And Subaru designed Boxer engines (which the BR-Z has), while well-done in many ways, don't have redlines as high as the old Celica GTS, so they are even more of a candidate for damage from abuse and over-revving.

i'm positive Earth Dreams only apply to 2013+ Accord 2.4 4 cylinder engine. i've seen those ED badges on the engine bays at a Honda dealer I serviced my mom's Pilot few months back. The V6 does not have that badge.

You are correct. The Accord 3.5 is the old engine and quite frankly more impressive than the all new "earth dreams b.s" engine. I think the Accord 3.5 winning here is legit, its quite the impressive engine.

The new Earth Dream's 4 doesn't exactly get a ton more MPG than the big 3.5 V-6 on the highway.

ED-27-36 =30 MPG
3.5-21-32 =25 MPG

for comparison

The Camry

2.5-25-35=28 MPG

The 6
2.5-26-38=30 MPG

"Earth Dreams"

I've always liked Toyota's V6 better than Honda's V6.

The 2013 Accord 3.5L V6 is an earth dreams engine.

Mike, for the record, the 3.5L ED in the Accord is rated at 34 mpg hwy, not 32. And from what I understand, consumers are easily hitting this number.
