Default 2015 Hyundai Genesis Spy Shots

Having started development nearly 4 years ago and its design frozen last year in 2011, the 2014 Hyundai Genesis was first spotted last week in prototype form, testing in South Korea. IMAGES TAKEN DIFF. DATES & BY MULTIPLE PHOTOGRAPHERS

Codenamed DH, the new Genesis sedan will build atop the success of its predecessor which has been launched in the USA in 2009(corr.2008) and is rumored to incorporate a more dynamic exterior design.
Design-wise, the fully-remodeled Genesis sedan will incorporate Hyundai’s latest styling cues including the hexagonal signature grille, front and rear LED lamps and prominent side profile line.

The 2014 Genesis will be based on a heavily-upgraded rear-wheel-drive architecture which will provide significant contribution to the car’s overall weight reduction. According to sources close to Hyundai, the new model will lose more than 100 kilograms in overall weight.
Rumored to make its official public debut in the second half of 2013, the 2014 Hyundai Genesis will also provide sportier driving experience thanks to its upgraded suspension set-up.
Under the hood, the forth-coming Genesis sedan will feature a range of highly-potent V6 and V8 engines mated to the 10-speed automatic transmission.
Additionally, the fuel-savy hybrid powertrain is rumored to be available as well, however, we have no technical details about it at this point!
First set taken November 8, 2012

No, Hyundai couldn't have copied a vehicle they had no access to. I did state above that the design was frozen last year in 2011 and that was confirmed by a secret February interview when it was re-evaluated amongst luxury competitors in a customer clinic as the tooling process started. The first Avalon prototype was caught testing in Ontario, Canada in January and filmed in early February. That same prototype had it's coupe-like greenhouse obscured in disguise material.

Headlights look like a copy of the 6 Series, profile looks like Avalon.

Proportions look really good, but it seems these cars just lack identity in their design language. I'm guessing there will be a lot of BMW influence up front like with the K9, as well as some "fluidic sculpture" thrown in for good measure, but not too much to associate the car with its lesser Accent bretheren.

It will have 500hp and be rated at 40 MPG with 0-60 in 4 seconds.

Real world owners will get 12 MPG and 0-60 in 8.9 seconds

Looks nice so far to me.

I loved the fact that the Genesis shared little to no design language with any other Hyundai product. Will be pretty disappointing if this ends up looking like a gigantic Azera.

looking sharp from what can be seen. looks a bit like a maxima, but more svelte, and really like the short front overhang!

Oh I see. I actually did have one as a first car(a Sonata), so part of me still roots for them to do well and strive to reinvent mainstream cars. Maybe your plan is already working.
