Default If you were stuck in Superstorm Sandy. What would you drive?

If you were stuck and had to cross a few states near the coast, what would you want to be driving?

For me, either a Mercedes G Wagon or a short bed Tacoma crew cab.

Hummer came to mind as well but with the fuel shortages maybe not. Probably an LX570 or GL350 Bluetec

My FJ worked just fine! I would pick a H1 but the ridiculousness with gas lines has me sticking with my FJ on this one.

I forgot about Toyotas FJ. The Tacoma and FJ have the same drivetrain, and I figure the open bed would make the Tacoma the better vehicle as you could care more stuff like fuel etc and still have the cab space inside. But FJ would work too, especially with the locking rear differential.

An older 4x4 diesel pickup with offroad tires, lift, and as little electronics as possible would be ideal.

My trusty ol 97 LX450.

15 years of constant NYC beating and it still hasn't failed.

Not a bad choice. A family member owner has one and it is built to last
