That's just nuts. The novelty would have worn off by then.

Not to mention all the cars that will come out or be refreshed during that time.

Acura does not seem to understand rich guys impulse buy, they want immediate reward, not some 3 year delayed wait while their buddies at the country club roll up in all sorts of new high dollar rides. Will Acura give them a TLX to drive during the wait. This is a comedy of errors on the grandest scale.

Please note that I did not come up with this stuff.

This was conveyed during the 4.5 hour NSX shpeil given by Acura at the Dealers'meeting as interpreted by a GM and translated by the internet salesperson to me.

Do doubt man, I believe you. It is just crazy how delusional Acura is at this point.

I would also say this stuff reinforces my belief that the Acura folks didn't hire anyone with real exotic car experience to put this marketing program together.

When I had 7 figures in assets I was ok with the, I gotta find my S2000 in bumphuk upstate NY and have it shipped to me in Eastern MA because Honda just dumped cars on dealers here there and everywhere instead of where the demographics would inform them the market is.

Here we go in 2015. Every real exotic maker builds per order because the 8 figure and up in asset folks like to select where to put the carbon fiber, extended leather, how to mix colors and on and on. Here is Acura saying, no, we will build a bunch of cars to start off and drop them here and there and let those early delivery dealers charge over sticker. After we leave a dirty taste in our customers' mouths we will take orders but you still can't really order the car to your taste. Have a nice day customers.

It's surprising how much they're over looking. You think a company like Honda/Acura would have consultant firms overlooking what they're doing before the single largest car launch that I can ever remember them doing.

Acura will be building 800 units for the original release and the very first one will be auctioned off at the Barret Jackson auction.
Brochures for in house use were provided to dealers.
Deliveries to commence February or March 2016.
After the original release, customers will be able to order through an Acura dealer who has to have the order approved with the manufacturer.

I guess Acura doesn't plan on staying in business much longer, who the heck takes 3 years to build a car and what consumer would wait that long for one.. No thanks..

I hate to beat up on Acura all the time, but they have Fail consumers FAIL after FAIL..
The NSX really is a Unicorn now, its not even a Joke anymore..

I'm afraid if it takes 3 years to fill an order the name Acura doesn't mean much now except for being the butt of Jokes...

GS3Tek, the info came out after NSXPO.

I did not post this on NSXPrime as I just like to troll there to hear the beeetching.

I am sure there will be a good following for the new NSX as this will be the only Japanese (i.e. no worries to own) exotic car in the market.

It is about blown opportunity. They could move a lot of volume and help build the brand if they took a more professional approach to their business. This launch is another confirmation of how weak the management is at Acura.

GT-R is a fantastic machine but I have never connected to it visually

The NSX does the trick terms of sufficient, though not ideal exotic form combined with real Honda power

what does that mean, 200 cars per year? 500? 2000? Without perspective, it means very little.
