BTW thats without any of the CF trims which would push it to over $200k.
less than half of what an LFA went for then. sounds like a bargain

For about $150-200k, you can get Audi R8, McLaren 570s, MB GT R or 911 Turbo S all of which are more appealing to me.

I wish they cut out all the Hybrid crap and sell a base model at $85-90k just with the turbo and manual trans.
^This. For the money I would go R8 v10 all day long or for less money the AMG GT.

You are right it is not a Ferrari, it is going to be much more reliable, is a much better daily driver, won't cost a ton of money to maintain, won't overheat, won't lose a ton of value with putting more then a 1000 miles on it a year, won't get single digit fuel economy, and is much more advanced. The Ferrari may be listed as 100K more but you are going to be paying much more then that in the final transaction price. With its bespoke engine, platform, DSG, etc it would cost much more then then $85-$90 even without the hybrid system and it would be slower though I would like to see a lightweight version without the hybrid system but it will likely be priced around 125-130K.

At these prices, what's the sales goal numbers they are going for? At approximately $200K it's a different, a bit smaller, market segment they're now in.

I agree. I wish Ferrari would stop over charging for it's name and price their 488GTB at around $100,000. And McLaren needs to add more of a car to their Spartan and plain 570S and sell it around $85,000

Never going to happen, they're already selling more cars than they can build at their current prices. $100k is an impossible price point for the 488GTB anyways, its completely carbon-fiber and hand made. $100k gets you a Dodge Viper or Z06 Corvette, awesome cars no doubt, but not in the same leauge as a hand made McLaren or Ferrari, even if they post competitive lap times with those cars.

you'd be in the market for one then, huh?

last i heard it's about a 2yr wait for an ordered ferrari. they don't need to lower prices and i also heard their brand is the most valuable on earth.

For cars? If everything, I'd challenge that Coca Cola would take that title.

The supposed story board for the new NSX is 800 per year for the US and another 800 per year ex US.

My car was the 171st for the US. I haven't received what they call the serial # yet, this tracks all Gen 2 NSX cars built, regardless of market or year. From what we have been seeing they are building close to 4 US cars for each ex US car. The deal is that they are trying to get the first car to each US dealership that signed up. These first cars are referred to as coverage units.

Because of the poorly managed plant, they are way behind on this target. The most recent thing I heard was 800 cars for N America in year 1 (unclear how many Canada will get).

My car was supposedly released for shipment on 9/22. Pilot has free reign to pick up cars based on their logistical decision algorithm.

The 488 and 458 use a aluminum chassis, not all carbon fiber though I agree they likely would not make any money on it if they sold it for 100K but they still have a ridiculous premium for what you get and that is not even counting the huge dealer mark up.

The NSX plant is in Ohio, right???? That's not too far from Illionis, wonder if they'd let you pick it up at the plant and drive it home. I know with the Corvette you can do that, and I'd do it since I only live about 60 miles from Bowling Green.

Good read, thanks for sharing. Ferrari, Apple, Google, Hermès, Coca-Cola, Disney, Rolex, and F1 racing rivals Red Bull. Some worldwide star power for sure.
