IVW manages to sell 40-50mpg diesels in this country that meet emissions requirements, and they sell every one they make for a premium over their gas counterparts.
why dont they make more then? VW has no capacity problems with diesel engines, they sell millions in Europe.
And of course they sell at premium, they cost more to make... thats why they dont make more of them :-).
