and the real deal

While I drove top spec 2010 LC 200, I had a feeling that they made interior cheaper on purpose so people would get LX.

I have to agree with you on that.
Its still amazingly built though and everything is put together perfectly !

The LX interior has got to be one of my favorite Lexus Interiors to date.

Our first Land Cruiser was a 1994, 80 series... loved that truck. We also had the refreshed 80 interior in the Lexus LX450.

yeah, although seat warmer controls? crawl controls? want to smash them with hammer :-).

I think they improved it with new LC200... did you see that one in real life? better?

I had LC200 V8 for few years... it was perfect except for that centre console details that felt like they had to make it worse on purpose.

I have seen it in real life, the layout and buttons are still the same. How ever hey did make some slight subtle changes to the interior design. They added a bit of extra chrome around the ac vents and the door handles. The center console is now finished with a glossy black color . Other than that the materials used are still the same.

Interior-wise, here's a piece of Land-Cruiser trivia that some of you might not know (or remember): Consumer Reports, back in the mid-1960s, rated the Land Cruiser Not Acceptable for what they considered a glaring safety defect.....running the fuel-line from the tank to the engine compartment right through the interior of the cabin.

Glad to help. The Land Cruiser has improved enormously the years. It (and its Lexus LX570 cousin) now rank among the best luxury/upscale hard-core off-roaders on the planet. The last Land Cruiser I reviewed (several years ago) stunned me with its overall build-quality, though it does not quite have the tank-solidness of the Mercedes G-wagon (Gelandewagen), which was originally developed in the 1980s as a German/Austrian military-transporter.

Toyota still has old school tanks, which are sadly only available overseas.
Mind you there are much more utilitarian than the G-wagon.

The Land Cruiser 70 series .

The leather now has small holes for the ventilation and heating just like the LX570, didn't pay enough attention though as to whether the materials were changed or not . How ever i suspect it is most likely the same quality and still not as good as the leather in the LX570.

It's refreshing to me to see the old school Toyota door handles (both the exterior and interior), once used on everything from Cressidas to Pickups, are still in production today somewhere in the world. Those, and the window cranks. That LC 70 series is such a throwback. I love it.

still, seems better... there is a lot of intention going into Toyota interiors these days, so here is hope for 2015 :-)

p.s. for the price, I thought LC 150 has better interior.
