You were asking for the 3.7 liter V6 Cyclone engine then.

I guess the contract between Mazda and Ford for that engine has expired (if there's any indication)

Anyways, this Mazda 6 can be related to the sporty underdog.

Very dynamic and inspiring not just in looks and the feel but also in the drive.

The sad thing though is that most buyers in this segment purchase on familiarity and practicality. Anything that is strictly based on sporty driving and dynamism is not in the target market's criteria.......and this is why the previous-gen Mazda 6 sold quite few numbers (despite having superb and dynamic styling in this segment).

Then again, Mazda was never about sales dominance but more of creating cars that are dynamic and inspiring.

With that said, I really want Mazda to live on and continue producing these kinds of vehicles. I guess others out there feel the same way.

As long as they can offer a Turbo 4 in place of a V6 it should be ok. Only offering a 2.5L 5 would be the mistake

Actually, the 2003 Mazda6 sold really nice. the second generation fell flat in the face due to the bloated size, and questionable styling.
This 3rd generation looks like it will get back Mazda6 in it's comfort zone.
will it beat toyota/honda. probably not.

I agree with most of this. First gen never sold in Camry or Accord or even Altima numbers but it was by far the "BMW" of the group. Come second gen and it was decently styled and had a nice interior but the lack of configurations other than 2.5L I4 or 3.7L V6 both with FWD 6-auto or 6-manual sedan body styles. By comparison the First gen had I4, V6, turbo 4. Manual, auto, FWD, AWD, sedan, hatch, and watch. If Mazda were to give this new gen AWD and turbo I'd sign the papers right away

And yeah it won't beat Toyota/Honda/Nissan/Kia/Hyundai/Ford/VW in numbers but it is an excellent package with the lowest weight in class. If Mazda continues this trend, they might bob above the radar. I'm rooting for them

I am not impressed with the actual car now that I see rear world pics.

they should not have touched the concept! This car is equivalent in design to the nissan altima.

Hyundai sonata, kia optima, ford fusion and chevy malibu so far lead the top 4 spots in the mid sized category IMO.

it doesnt need turbo... it needs good 2.5l engine and it seems like new skyactive engine with around 190hp will do it good.

Disagree. 2.5 is a great base engine. But there needs to be a stronger option here in America

it would be best if they would do proper MPS version then.
