I say take the existing 461hp motor rumored for the GSF and drop it in the next ISF. The heavier GSF should have a bit more power IMO. Perhaps they could add more power to the 5.0 with a performance hybrid drivetrain of some sort?

If Lexus is going to step into the ring they need to step with a lot more power than 461 HP. They will need to have 550 hp to run with the BIG BOYS. Im sure they are aware that the arena that they want to compete in is 100% full on HP war territory.

Looks like Lexus is going to position the GS line similar to the Audi A6/S6 line. A6/GS350 have V6's. Uplevel power in the S6/GS-F

If the weight is several hundred pounds lighter then the M5, AMG E class, Caddy CTS-V,and RS-6 461hp should be fine, it may not be as quick but it is also likely to be much less expensive then the German competition and maybe even a better more nimble driver. Not sure why so many are complaining about 461hp in a possible GS-F, it will have more then a 100hp bump over the last GS430, it will handle better, and will most likely not be enormously expensive or get poor fuel economy like a M5 or AMG.
You can't get a V8 in a GS anymore so it would be better for many buyers if they really want a V8 in that it might only cost around 70K as opposed to around 85-95 if they really go after the M5 with a engine making well over 500hp that will only attract a very very small number of buyers.

Only that a GS450h today is $74k fully loaded, a GS-F with just a simple 461 hp V8 would be at least another $10k~$15k more, you do the math.
