well one drive would make the difference if someone wants a sportier drive, but i agree the ES will eat a lot of GS sales, probably more than in the past.

If the LS is too close to the looks of the GS and ES, the ES will canibalize the LS market as well.
i don't agree with this at all. the interior and amenities of the LS will HOPEFULLY be leaps and bounds above the ES which shows its cost control, even compared to the GS.

very risky what lexus is doing.
what in my view will be risky, will be the LS not being bold ENOUGH and still not offering enough granularity in options and ordering.

lexus is currently selling only 2-3 LS per dealer per month in the u.s.

still love the car though.

well in past, there was nothing to eat :P.

But generally, it cant be good if you gimp one model to help another. I think there is a lot more difference between ES and GS than between 3 series and 5 series.

Back to the LS, hopefully the totally change the interior and bring it into line with GS.

as andrew stated, i believe this is a "big" facelift". it's still pretty much the same car but with more changes here and there. i think they will try to stretch this for another 2-3 years to space new cars out, and then the new ls, which means after the new s is here

I like the spindle look on the new RX and GS. Not sure how I feel about it on the ES and LS.

if they actually completely change the interior, it will be "new model"...I dont think Toyota ever changed interior of a car in facelift. So we will be able to see with that.

Deposits on 13 ES have started as well.

No changes, except for a price increase.

there is always a first to everything. we will see how interior is "changed". if the car has the same chassis / platform / suspension / drive train, i don't know, hard for me to call that new. if it's "new", i would expect it to stay for another 6-7 years

The ES interior is VERY different in the 13.

Doesn't look like the GS IMO.

A friend told me that the new IS ES LS will all look the same, just pick your size S M L.

Power trains and AWD do make a difference but I see his point.

i dont think they will spend money on interior and exterior and not change the rest as they did with GS.... I bet it will be very similar to GS changes if they do the interior... they might do what RX did and just do some special model + grille and small interior changes.

p.s. regards to our talks about turbo's, i just realized leaked brochure of next gen Auris had same engines as before :-). Traditionally, Toyota introduces new powertrains first in Japan.
