2013 Lexus LS Unveiling
#106
Lexus is the best selling brand for 11 years (thanks to RX +ES) but Lexus LS is not always the best selling luxury flagship. Mercedes S Class is now still the best selling in its flagship class despite its age. On average, S Class is the most expensive but still best selling through its current cycle, that is the point.

Funnily enough, here is what I got from the guy that sold me GS350, 10 seconds ago.
I'm excited to inform you that there is a NEW $12,000 Factory Incentive on 2012 Mercedes Benz S Classes Saving You Up To $24,000 Thousand Off MSRP and Lease Payments As Low As $769/mo.. Please call me ASAP so we can provide you updated free custom verbal quote.
edit: i just checked their LS prices... their S classes are 20k off, their LS's 5k. Lexus LS 460 L AWD is 78k while S550 4Matic is 83k. I might be Lexus fan, but I would get S550 at that price anytime.

still i am pretty sure s will be more expensive overall (given its inflated msrp and then big incentives).
and let's not forget, most ls sold are swb, which has a much lower price point. you can't even find swb s here in the US. so i think it's still a true statement that sales of s is pretty strong. ls was doing great the first year, but it's time for another jump start

to be honest , I think the S class facelift did a much better job than that of the LS , had I waited one more year , I would quite likely have picked the facelifted S550 over the LS too ...

S-classes depreciate like rocks and there is a million and five things that can go wrong with them.

A guy came in the other day to trade in his 08 S600.
150k new...
We offered him 30k. lol. I think it had around 60k miles on it.

The LS and S-class have traditionally battled it out in sales for the #1/#2 spot. The current S-class continues to do a stellar job and is an incredible vehicle.
The LS is quite the amazing Japanese luxury car b/c the other two brands don't even have a car of this class and as the LS continues to go up in price, it always sells very well.

They gotta start somewhere. I agree it's far and conservative but its better than the relatively small 4.0L 1UZ-FE's 250hp v8 it started with 23 years ago. At least 480+ is better than the standard 380 that's been offered for all of USF40 currently.
