now I'm hoping that this is just a model "refresh" and not the full next generation. If this is the next full generation, then I'm keeping my LS430 and jumping two generations and hoping the 2019 is a more luxurious looking vehicle.
This thing looks more like a bubba gump shrimp car, with the opening grille for shrimp catching.

I think the CT has the incomplete, or transforming version of the spindle grille, since the lines of the lower front air dam does not align with the upper, thereby not forming a true spindle shape. Released before the GS, it must have been designed when Lexus hadn't really decided on the next design theme, and then they saw the CT team's design and decided to make the shape more cohesive and call it the new theme. It's also why you don't see the CT in the short video of all the spindle'd models during the LF-LC debut.

As for CT at the LF-LC debut, I guess you didn't pay much attention...

Looks great. Definitely a move to be more sporty. I'm curious though how this will affect the old man and woman's appeal. Those seem to be who buys these things and if they make it too "out there," they will be playing with fire.
The HS was the first with the spindle shape, then the CT. I don't see it with any IS.
With the above photo, they have lights and photoshop outlining the grille's frame. It will not stand out like that
in real life.

i think it's good if lexus does what it takes to make their buyers younger. as of now lexus owners are very old and it's not good.
just like the s class going from w220 to w221, i think it was a lot of bold moves, lines, and design. initial response was mixed, but i think the car has aged well and help make mb younger now
