If you have the means, we highly recommend picking one up.

Sure, Ferris may have spoken those words in reference to a classic Ferrari California – well, actually, a replica of a classic Ferrari – but he could just as easily have been speaking of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class AMG. As we realized the last time we found ourselves ensconced behind the wheel of one, in that case a 2012 S63 model, we compared it to a spacecraft bound for Mars... meaning it ought to handle anything us mere terrestrial beings can throw its way with aplomb.

Naturally, though, Mercedes-Benz can't sit back and rest on its laurels, and since the current model, known internally as the W221, has been on the market since 2006, its no surprise that its replacement has been spotted running around the streets of the Nürburgring.

As you can see above, this AMG-fettled S-Class features a slightly lowered chassis along with side sill extensions, a rear diffuser and a modified front fascia. We also note predictably massive wheels wrapped in wide, sticky rubber. Though this model is missing them, our spy shooters tell us that, by the time this beast makes its way into production, it will sport quad exhaust tips that will exhale the spent gasses emitted by what we presume will be a turbocharged V8 of 5.5 liters.

Not a big change then, like 06 to 07. The general shape is the same. But have to wait until to see the final product to determine. MB usually don't dissapoint.

The launch of the all-new SL65 AMG reinforced the position that V12 AMG IS ALIVE AND KICKING

Hence, I expect this new S-class to have an S65 AMG as well..........with the 7-speed AMG gearbox

Hot damn

Of course, if there is a SL65, there must be a S65 and CL65. There even is a G65. I won't be shock if they 65 anything. MB ***** out everything.

Looks pretty much like the same car save for some detailing a suppose. Seems to be a evolution of the current design much like the current 7-series. I wonder if the LS will follow suit?

The '13 will have the spindle grill. '14 LS better have a completely new design.Something a lot more flashy. Also 400+ HP.

I think is a matter of mind set, the flares are cool if you like sporty, but probably not so good if you want an elegant state coach.

Call me party pooper, I think the next LS update/redesign, whatever you want to call it, will be just like Lexus recent's 4GS and 6ES..............same body and chassis, adds spindle grill, cool LED DRL, Hyundai rear end, BMW interior, BMW driving dynamics.......and dare I say, I hope is not true......carry over powertrain with improved efficiency. Oh and a new F-Sport model.

New expected changes for W222:

1. Nine speed transmission
2. Electric motor in all models, not hybrid but some kind of electric motors on real wheels to help with efficiency
3. Move to single turbo with twin scroll with more power
4. Some new kind of camera based "magic ride" (optional)

There are more but that is all I can remember right now.
