Default I think I caught a glimpse of the next generation Ford Fusion test mule

Hey guys I saw this today on the way home. I am pretty sure its a Ford. I saw some shots of the next generation Ford Fusion on Top Gear and online and it looked exactly like this thing. I was amazed at the styling. It looked amazing. The driver of the test mule didn't like the fact that I was trying to take pics ( sorry about the horrible quality iPhone pics). He slowed down to 30 in a 45 to not get ahead of me but I tried to take some pics using the side mirrors but it didnt work to well in traffic.

yeah. It's definitely the new Fusion. I live in AZ and many manufacturers do hot weather testing out here understandably .

nice find. Really excited about the new Fusion! This must be a 2.5 I4 or 1.6 I4 ecoboost model

aside from that, I really like it in blue

There are pics all over the internet but from the way the driver was trying to avoid me you'd think it was a super secret test vehicle. All in all, I have to say I was stunned at how nice it looks in person. I have also seen the next gen ES as well in the same area of town. Cool to catch them on the street before they actually hit market

When I go out testing in AZ or So Cal, I see the Ford guys all over the place (usually the same ones). I don't know why they were trying to avoid you, because when I see them, they usually have the prototypes parked uncovered and right on busy streets.

yeah doesn't make much sense considering the car was already released at a major autoshow. I just wonder looking at the tail pipe what sort of mule this is. whether its the hybrid or plug in hybrid perhaps

no joke, this dude was slowing down to 30 in a 45 mph zone where most are actually at 50-55mph. I saw him this morning again but going the opposite direction. Must be a cool job to drive the car all day and take notes on how it feels.

It has it's moments, but it's not as glamourous as everyone thinks. Sure you get to drive around in a new car, but there's a lot of focus that goes into driving and the ability to identify and duplicate any little abnormality. The issues need to be found and fixed before the final product gets sent out to the customer. Lots of sleepless nights.

I find it kind of funny that the upper and lower grille on the new Fusion are exactly opposite of Lexus' spindle grille.

Glad to see they updated the camo. The one I saw was matteblack with just the covers on the hood and trunk. Didn't take much interest in it though at the time

All I know is being in a current Fusion rental almost made me off myself. It was so bland and lethargic beyond measure. At least I got 30 MPG
