Abandoned Ferrari Enzo to be auctioned in Dubai

Based on the cars that usually feature in the videos we get from Dubai, we can't really call the tale of this Ferrari Enzo that outrageous. Pictures of the dusty stallion have been zooming around the Internet while the real thing sat in a police impound lot for reasons that have never been clear – rumors ranged from it being hot goods in transit to China, to a casualty of the authorities for having been caught doing insane speeds on the Emirates Road.

According to a story in the Daily Mail, the truth is a bit more prosaic: the owner was a British businessman who couldn't pay traffic fines and who knows what else almost two years ago, so he abandoned the limited-edition thoroughbred to its fate. The police are going to send it to auction with 128 other vehicles, 23 of which are other luxury vehicles that were each burdened with fines anywhere from $26,761 to $27,225.

Most of the auction fodder was owned by companies; only 18 were individually owned. The auction is expected to be the biggest Dubai has ever held, but folks who bid on the Enzo should read the terms carefully: we can't see anyone abandoning million-dollar car for a $27,000 fine, so there's likely another payout lurking somewhere in order to take ownership. In addition to the cleaning bill.

Now that should be a fun auction.

Wow, I remember seeing this car years ago on other forums. I can't believe that little has changed in that time.

Kind of makes me irritated. This is not just a car. This is automotive history that this clown has tossed to the side. At least sell it on your own. The car is probably worth 1.5-1.6 million based on current sales prices. Takes some serious zeros in the bank to toss that aside. Even if the guy is a billionaire I have no respect for him . Obviously he is one of those clowns who drives cars like this for status and probably has no clue about cars

I read about this car a year or so ago. That poor thing has been battered and beaten by the sand and the sun.

Reminds me of what is dubbed as "Worlds most unloved BMW M6", the one in Dubai

That car has been sitting for so long, i think i first saw pictures of it, it must have been 09-10...or maybe that was the jag xj220 i saw abandoned. Regardless can't believe people left them. If they were broke, they were probably just giving the car back or at least selling it rather then just leaving it.

blows my mind. Some of these cars like the XJ220 and the ENZO are extremely collectable. A person who was a car enthusiast couldnt just dump the car and walk away. Hell, why not just give it away to a Club Lexus member as opposed to leaving it to waste away in the desert. People will be talking about that Enzo for years. 1 of 399 and this douche just throws it in the trash

Imo he made the right choice. It's either dump it or keep it until it catches on fire with you in it one day.

$1,500,000 for an Enzo . Park it in your huge garage, sell it, give it away, rent to rappers, make a track car, or give it away to a CL member . Just my 2 cents

I'm sure there are plenty of people who would have paid his traffic fines + good cash for that!

I would love to get the story on the owner to see what really happened or what the hell he was thinking

I highly doubt they are telling the truth, or really know what's going on. Is the owner still alive? Could be kidnap or murder you know. Anyway, I feel sad see such cars were treated this way.
