this isn't meant to be sporty. this is meant to be luxurious, quiet, and roomy.

The new Lincoln looks nice IMO. i wonder though if it will appeal to a wider audience than the current MKZ? At least it will offer a stylish contemporary car to potential buyers like the ES350, LaCrosse etc. do.

MKZ Engines, Transmissions and Drive Systems

The 2013 Lincoln MKZ offers three distinct powertrains. The standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost delivers the performance of a traditional V6 along with expected segment-leading fuel economy that is at least 3 mpg better than the closest competitor. This engine delivers a projected 20-percent increase in highway fuel economy versus the 2012 MKZ. Rated at 240hp and 270lbft.

Emphasizing performance and efficiency, the optional 3.7-liter V6 produces significantly more power (37 horsepower and 28 lb.-ft. of torque) than the previous MKZ V6 while improving fuel economy approximately 5 percent.

Maximizing fuel efficiency, the optional 2.0-liter four-cylinder hybrid powertrain is expected to enable the 2013 MKZ Hybrid to remain North America's most fuel-efficient premium sedan. The 2012 MKZ Hybrid is rated at 41 city mpg, 36 highway mpg.
Something for everyone

Production model looks better than the concept IMO. The larger headlights and side mirrors just make the proportions seem right.

Nice job on the interior too. I like the undercut center console.

Interior is nice. Gotta give it to Lincoln, although a little more wood accents would be nice. The piece of wood above the glove box looks out of place, though it could just be the picture.

The exterior, although much better than the previous model, is still eh. I'm still not a fan of the grill design... on any of their cars. And the rear, although futuristic looking, looks cheap to me. Reminds me of the Fusion concept and that reminds me of Jaguar/Aston, but more of a cheapo repro. Buick fighter all the way.

You're beginning to sound like me.

Seriously, I fully agree. Luxury cars should deliver the look, trim, ride, noise-isolation, and comfort of a true luxury car. Too many of them today, IMO, don't.....they're essentially sport-sedans.

A new luxury-compact, BTW, that does all of this in an excellent combination (for its size) is the new Buick Verano.

Back to the new MKZ...the interior doesn't really look that bad, but I agree with Mike that a little more wood is needed. The worst part of the new styling, IMO, is the roofline...it is much too low, too raked-back in the rear, has too-small side-windows, and, IMO, like the VW CC and Mercedes CLS, makes the car look like it went halfway through a roof-crusher.

i'm not a fan of the new lincoln front. i know it isn't a direct resemblance, but for some reason, every time i see that new front design, it reminds me of this lol

Here are some Google-shots of the rear, but they may not be fully-accurate when the production-version starts.

(The silver one, I know, is an enlargement of one in a previous post)

The front looks way to Japanese/Korean. Where's all the Lincoln at? The rear looks like something out of Tron or perhaps an older Prelude tail light assembly. I like the interior in how flat the center stack is. It really looks like everything would be able to be on one big i-pad; but man there looks to be A LOT of plastic. I'd love to be able to sit in one and be proven completely wrong but there appears to be some cost savings by introducing tons of textured plastic surfaces vs. leather, stitching, and wood like I would hope/pay for in a Lincoln.
