IMO, the closest thing to a true automotive stereotype (if there is such a thing) would be the Cadillac DeVille/DTS. While not unheard of, it is generally uncommon to see a younger person driving one....almost all of the privately-owned/non-limo versions have pilots behind the wheel that are older than 50.
Or Aliens bought them

Until it stopped being sold in the civil non-military versions (and Hummer later going out of buisness), I'd guess the Hummer H1 as tops.

Certainly not by looking in the RX forum.

The only two on the list that remotely appeal to me would be the RAV4 and the Matrix. No women I know drive any of the other vehicles. And like mmarshall said it's really not that disproportionate.

Where is the Honda Civic on that list? At least where I live, most of the drivers are females.

Depends on what model Civic you're talking about. Although not exactly a stereotype, a lot of Si models, both new and used, sell to young guys with their caps on backwards.

Are you kidding? Lots of females drove (and still drive) 60s-vintage Mustangs. They were some of the most successful cars of all time.

Mostly in red convertibles.
My wife owned a new red '75 Mustang fastback when we started dating.Downsized and ugly Mustang.

I saw one at a Walmart Parking lot yesterday. I couldn't stop gawking. That thing looks badass as ever. If money were no object, I would love to own one.

LMFAO

Our college newspaper recently interviewed a student(who is the son of a popular communications prof. on campus) about racing. Both he and his father love Miatas and enjoy racing them. He kept talking about why the Miata was the best car out there. I want to send him the episode of Top Gear where Jeremy Clarkson drives one across the middle east, lol.

Lot's of honda civics driven by girls around here, usually the group that has their car bought for them by their parents. Tons of beetles on campus driven by girls as well, but I haven't seen any of the latest gen. Where's the Mazda6 on there? I see chicks driving them all the time.

The Lexus LS is an old person car around here. But maybe that's just because I live in a town with a heavy demographic of retired folks with decent retirements. When I see younger people behind the wheel of a Lexus, it's almost always an IS. One of my roommates has taken to calling me an old man because I drive a Lexus and listen to Johnny Cash. I then point out that that he drives a Civic while listening to Ke$cha and Lady Gaga.
