Default Ferrari F12 Berlinetta Bumped to 753-Horses by Novitec Rosso

Click here to view more photos

Currently, and until the presentation of the Enzo's successor that may or may not wear the F70 nameplate, the fastest and most potent prancing horse model in Ferrari's stable is the F12berlinetta; a two-door coupe powered by a front-mid-mounted 6.2-liter V12 churning out 730hp (740PS) and 690Nm (509 lb-ft).

If life (…or your parents) have been good enough to you to own the F12berlinetta but you're still not pleased with what the factory model has to offer, then you may want to take a look at what Novitec Rosso has to offer.

The German tuning outfit has souped up the exotic supercar with both performance and aesthetic modifications. Under the hood, Novitec's first kit for the F12 brings in a newly calibrated mapping for injection and ignition boost to lift output to 753hp (763PS) at 8,500 rpm and peak torque to 703Nm (518 lb-ft) at 6,300 rpm.

The ECU tune also increases the redline to 8,900 rpm and allows the Ferrari to reach a slightly higher top speed of 345 km/h (214mph), up from 340 km/h (211mph).

Next up on the menu are sport springs that lower the ride height of the F12berlinetta by up to 40mm (~1.6 inches) and an optional lifting system for the front axle, which raises the front end of the car by 40mm to overcome obstacles on the road at the push of a button.

Novitec proposes a new set of wheels size 21-inches at the front and 22-inches at the rear axle wrapped around in Pirelli high-performance tires in size 255/30 ZR 21 and 335/25 ZR 22 respectively.

Other modifications include black side markers that in the near future will be combined with black tail lamps as well, and numerous options for the interior ranging from carbon-fiber shift paddles to exclusive Alcantara and leather interiors.

Novitec Rosso said that additional performance stages for the 12-cylinder engine as well as a full aerodynamic package are currently under development, with details to be announced.

Default DMC Runs a Performance and Styling Tune Over the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta

Click here to view more photos

After its more extreme tunes of the VW Golf R and the Renault Clio RS, German aftermarket firm Cam-Shaft is proposing a much milder and purely cosmetic take on a car that doesn't really need any performance upgrades to stand out from the crowd anyway.

We're talking about Ferrari's 599 replacement, the F12berlinetta that sports a 6.2-liter V12 engine pushing out 730hp (740PS) and 690Nm (509 lb-ft) of peak torque, good for a 0-200 km/h (124 mph) sprint time of 8.5 seconds and a 340 km/h+ (211mph+) maximum speed.

What Cam-Shaft is recommending is a foil wrap in a matte gunmetal shade for the exterior of the Ferrari supercar that will cost you €2,900 (approximately US$3,800 at today's currency rates) plus another €700 (US$900) if you want to cover the door sills and edges.

An additional €700 (US$900) will get you a powder coating of the F12berlinetta's original wheels in the same color as the rest of the car.

If you do the math, the total comes out to €4,300 or about US$5,600 (if you live in Germany).

Default Ferrari F12 Berlinetta takes home 2014 Robb Report Car of the Year [w/video]

In what is being called an "unprecedented landslide decision," those who have the right to cast votes have anointed the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta as the 2014 Robb Report Car of the Year. Standout features that have helped the Ferrari earn such a runaway victory include its 0-60 blast of 3.1 seconds, its 211-mile-per-hour top speed and the exhaust note of its 731-horsepower V12 engine.

After being driven by a team of journalists and 100 or so members of the private Robb Report Club, the grand tourer beat out a total of 13 contenders that included the Audi R8 V10 Plus, Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster, Aston Martin Vanquish Volante, Bentley Continental Flying Spur, Jaguar F-Type V8 S, Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe, Maserati Quattroporte GTS and Dodge SRT Viper GTS.

This is the 21st year that Robb Report has selected a Car of the Year. Scroll down below for the official announcement and video, and feel free to read more about the F12 Berlinetta and some of its worthwhile competitors over at Robb Report.

Default Ferrari to reveal exclusive F12 NART next month in LA

While denying his tenure was coming to an end just prior to his resignation last week, outgoing Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo hinted at two new models to be revealed next month. One we anticipate to be a new version of the 458 – either the new turbocharged M model or the limited-edition Scuderia Spider – to be revealed at the Paris Motor Show on October 2, and the other we knew would be a strictly limited special exclusive to North America. And now we appear to have an idea of what that model will be.

According to Automotive News, we'll likely be looking at a version of the F12 Berlinetta decked out with the blue and white stripes pioneered by the North American Racing Team (NART) and most recently applied to the 458 Speciale. The special model is also likely to get custom bodywork and a revised interior – similar to what Ferrari Special Projects does for individual customers, but produced in a limited run of 10 examples.

All 10 of those are likely to already have been spoken for, with a price tag tipped to exceed $3 million apiece. The model will be revealed on October 12 at a special event in Los Angeles marking 60 years of Ferrari in America which will likely be Montezemolo's last event as chairman before handing over control to Sergio Marchionne and collecting his eight-figure severance package.

Default Ferrari F12 gunning for GT-R's Nürburgring lap time?

Ferrari may not play the Nürburgring lap time game to the extent that Porsche, Nissan and Radical do, but it has been known to go for some lap times of its own. And now an F12 Berlinetta has been spotted lapping the Nordschleife in an apparent record attempt.

The F12 reportedly had the track all to itself for about an hour and a half, suggesting one of two possibilities: either Ferrari is testing an updated version, or it's going for a lap record with the existing version. While it's impossible to tell what may be going on under the sheetmetal, the communications equipment taped to the roof appear to be the only outward modifications, and would seem to indicate the latter more than the former.

In between warm-up and cool-down laps, the F12 reportedly lapped the circuit in 7 minutes and 48 seconds – which wouldn't be anything spectacular in and of itself, but that lap apparently included 40 seconds of cool-down between T13 and Hatzenbach, suggesting a possible 7:08 lap time. That's the time which Nissan recently recorded in the GT-R Nismo, indicating that Ferrari could be going for Godzilla's top time as the fastest front-engined, street-legal car ever to lap the 'Ring, ahead of the Dodge Viper ACR, Lexus LFA with the Nürburgring Package and Corvette ZR1 (but behind Ferrari's own track-bound 599XX, which clocked a 6:58 lap time four years ago).

That would also make the F12 the fastest rear-drive, street-legal production car ever to lap the circuit, giving Maranello what to crow about even if its LaFerrari can't beat the 918 Spyder and its 6:57 lap time. Watch the clip right here and draw your own conclusions.

Default Ferrari reveals one-off F12 TRS at Sicily cavalcade

Click here to view photo gallery

Every year Ferrari owners gather from all corners of the globe for the annual Ferrari Cavalcade. This year's edition just wrapped up in Sicily, where over 90 proud owners from 27 different countries brought their prides and joys. Some of the participating supercars were more rare and notable than others – included among them several LaFerraris – but the extravaganza included the reveal of one very unique Prancing Horse.

That would be the new F12 TRS. The one-off creation surfaced just last week, the work of the Ferrari Special Projects division for one very fortunate client. It's based on the F12 Berlinetta, but replaces its coupe bodywork with new roadster sheetmetal that incorporates a glass window to reveal the red cylinder heads from which its inspiration – the 250 Testa Rossa – drew its name and a cowled rear deck. The open cockpit is trimmed in leather, Alcantara and carbon fiber, but ditches the glovebox, air vents, carpeting, audio system and other creature comforts.

Contrary to earlier reports, the F12 TRS does not appear to have a hybrid powertrain, the conventional 6.3-liter V12 producing the same 730 horsepower as the coupe to propel this one-off roadster to 62 in 3.1 seconds and to 124 mph in 8.1 – so as you can see, it hardly needed any help in the first place. Check it out in photos above, and feel free to read more in the press release below.

Press Release

A new one-off debuts in the Ferrari Cavalcade 2014

Maranello, 22nd June 2012 – One of the 90 cars taking part in the third edition of the Ferrari Cavalcade was the F12 TRS, a one-off custom design making its public debut on Sicilian soil.

Based on the F12berlinetta, the car was developed at a client's request as an extreme, two-seater, open-top sports barchetta. One of the initial inspirations for the project was the 1957 250 Testa Rossa. In fact, the F12 TRS is Flavio Manzoni and the Ferrari Style Centre team's modern, innovative take on that legendary car's spirit and pays homage to it in its moniker.

Like all one-off Ferraris, the F12 TRS is the product of Ferrari's now-classic approach of creating a truly integrated design. It thus has the same exceptional performance figures as the F12berlinetta including 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.1 s and 0-200 km/h acceleration in 8.1 s, thanks to the massive 740 cv and maximum torque of 690 Nm at 9,000 rpm unleashed by its 6262 cm3 V12 engine.

From the leading edge of the typically sharp Ferrari nose, aggressively sculpted forms flow back over the bonnet, while a low, wraparound windscreen forms a long dark band of glass in contrast to the car's body. The V12 engine's signature red cylinder heads are visible through a window in the engine lid, a concept inspired as much by the front-engined Ferrari sports cars of the 1950s as our more recent mid-engined berlinettas. The aerobridge, introduced on the F12berlinetta, has been given a new treatment in this car, resulting in a sculptural design that runs back from the flanks along the entire length of the car.

The design of the rear marks an evolution of the T-shaped graphic that characterises the F12's truncated tail and is influenced to some extent by the cabin shape with long fuselage fairings running behind the headrests into the rear spoiler. A smooth ramp runs from the central tunnel too, linking interior and exterior and creating a longitudinal aerodynamic channel to deliver an innovative Venturi effect completed by a vent under the spoiler.

The cockpit is light and pared-back to the barest driving essentials, creating a sense of powerful, uncompromising sportiness with no concessions to superfluous comfort. Even some of the controls for the likes of the air conditioning, for instance, have been cut back, while the glove compartment, central air vents, mats, audio system, window controls and odds-and-ends holders have all been removed. Most of the materials used aboard, such as black matt carbon-fibre, leather and Alcantara, are technical, while the same multi-layer red paint developed specifically for the exterior adorns the central tunnel and the door panels.

Although inspired by the traditional Rosso Corsa, the new bodywork colour was developed using multi-layer and micalised paint technologies.

Default Ferrari reveals pair of tailor-made specials in Shanghai

Click here to view photo gallery

For most people, buying a new Ferrari – heck, even a used one – would be a special occasion all on its own, not to mention a rare privilege. But to make the experience all the more special, the Prancing Horse marque offers its Tailor-Made personalization program. The service just reached the Asia-Pacific region for the first time with the new Tailor-Made Centre in Shanghai, and to mark its inauguration, Ferrari has revealed two new special editions – both based on V12 GTs and inspired by horses – specifically for the Chinese market.

Ferrari FF Dressage Edition First up is the F12 Berlinetta Polo Edition pictured above. The special F12 is distinguished by a white and blue theme, the exterior decked out in Bianco Italia Opaco (read: fancy white) with navy blue offset racing stripes, and the interior carrying an inverse take on the same featuring dark blue leather upholstering with white stitching, stripes and trim.

Those looking for more traction and versatility might be more intrigued by the FF Dressage Edition. The four-seat, four-wheel special gets a piano black exterior and a reddish saddle brown leather interior with grid-pattern stitching (pictured inset at right).

Even if these two specific specials don't tickle your particular fancy, the beauty of these increasingly popular in-house customization programs is that they allow clients to specify just about any parameter they wish, so the sky is the limit – as long as money is not a factor.

Been 2 years and I like the F12 more than I did at birth but still think the 575 and 599 look better.
Can't argue with the performance though.

Default Ferrari F12 Berlinetta upgraded to 795 HP by PP-Performance

Click here to view more photos

Torque bumped to 730 Nm

The aftermarket specialists from PP-Performance have developed a power boost package for the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta.

Many will consider squeezing more power from the 6.2-liter V12 engine inside the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta is not necessary taking into account in standard configuration the motor generates 740 HP (544 kW) and 690 Nm (509 lb-ft).

However, for those very few who want more, PP-Performance has installed a BMC race filter and reworked the exhaust system to extract even more power.

Those who pay €14,999 will be able to enjoy no less than 795 HP (585 kW) and 730 Nm (538 lb-ft) which will slash 0.2s from the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h), thus allowing the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta perform the sprint in only 2.9 seconds.

In addition, the 0-124 mph (0-200 km/h) will take just 8 seconds (down by 0.5s) while top speed continues to exceed 211 mph (340 km/h).

Default New Tailor-Made Ferrari F12berlinetta Pays Tribute to 250 GTO

Click here to view more photos

At the 2015 Dream Cars Show in Brussels, Ferrari presented a bespoke version of the F12berlinetta made through its Tailor Made personalization program.

The V12-powered car pays homage to the Ecurie Francorchamps racing team and more specifically, the 250 GTO in which Lucien Bianchi and Georges Berger won the 1964 Tour de France.

On the outside, it gets an Argento Auteil silver body paint with a Modena yellow stripe running across the bonnet.

Ferrari's designers gave the F12berlinetta a vintage look in the interior through the use of tobacco Soul leather seat upholstery, triangular-pattern metal plates on the floor mimicking the classic race cars of the past, and body-colored silver trim with yellow stripes on the dash and doors .

Additionally, Ferrari says the headliner and side panels are dressed in Mycro Prestige, described as "a soft, light, water-repellent and breathable fabric", while the boot trim and available floor mats in SuperFabric, "a tough, super-grippy bulletproof material featuring a 3D design".

Default Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera Berlinetta Lusso leaks out early

Based on the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta

The first pictures of the Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera Berlinetta Lusso have surfaced online, ahead of its debut at the Geneva Motor Show.

Based on the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, the Berlinetta Lusso adopts a curvaceous new body with a retro appearance. There's no word on specifics but it appears that virtually every body panel has been replaced.

The interior largely carries over but we can see two-tone leather upholstery, silver trim and Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera sill plates.

There no word on performance specification but the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta has a 6.2-liter V12 engine that develops 740 PS (544 kW) and 690 Nm (509 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a dual-clutch transmission which enables the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.1 seconds before hitting a top speed in excess of 340 km/h (211 mph).
