Well I guess now is a good time to officially let everyone on CL know

The show "My Ride Rules" (MMR)on the Speed Channel usually films out in L.A but they decided to come to Dallas and then Atlanta to shoot the rest of this seasons episodes. Sunny who hosts the "Speed & Mischief' meets in Atlanta mentioned it and I decided to attend a "try out" for some fun. I honestly didn't think there was a chance I would be picked.

I wasn't aware of it at the time but over 2,000 cars tried out in Atlanta.

So here I come with my little ole Lexus hybrid

and I remember seeing some awesome cars, modded EVOs, M3s, Corvettes, a Shelby Cobra, etc etc....It is always nice to be around car enthusiasts.

So I tried out which meant explaining whats on my car and to talk some "smack" about cars I think its better then. I pretty much explained how the GSh offered the best of both worlds in regards to power and fuel economy compared to traditional V-8s and this hybrid is no "Prius" (no disrespect Prius cousins

) and they film the car and you talking and explaining things.

A couple of weeks later out of the country I get an email from MMR asking my schedule etc. I thought it was a mistake and/or there were more tryouts to attend. I didn't even reply initially. I finally replied when I got back out of curiousity asking "I'm sorry is this for another tryout" and they inform me I was one of the 20 cars chosen in Atlanta

(they were going to film 5 shows here, 4 cars per episode).

I was kind of shocked and I also realized I needed to put the Jun BBK on the car ASAP, Motul 5.2 fluid from fellow sponsor JEImports some new Floormats (thanks Frank at Hennessy Lexus of Gwinnett)

, new HIDs from www.lightingtechniks.com (thanks Johnson) and a complete detail, etc etc..

The show is pretty fun if you haven't seen it and if you go to the site you can see past episodes. I did watch a couple episodes before and it's kind of funny. Basically you have 4 contestants explain their cars and everyone drives each others' car and everyone comments on what they like and don't like. Of course they want to hear some smacktalk and interesting commentary, poses, props etc. I guess I am interesting

The winner gets a trophy and like a grand and "bragging rights" that "My Ride Rules".

We filmed on a few days for two weeks and it was an experience I will never forget and I feel was super fortunate to be chosen

. I met some really cool car people and being involved with a t.v show was pretty cool to say the least. Since its a small world I actually knew a few of the other contestants and even one of the MMR workers. They really took care of us in regards to food, flexibility and the entire staff was very professional and very friendly.

I will add more later since this is long enough. I think I am Episode 24m Season 1 and will update the thread title when I know the exact time it airs (sometimes in April I think). In Atlanta I will host a Party likely at RedPaste's "Tilted Kilt" (thanks Bo) where everyone can come watch and then roast me later.

And I am sure I will be roasted online.

I have no idea what they will air or show and I won't spoil who won our episode. I just hope I don't come across too corny and I repped Lexus and hybrid owners well
