This is how I see it:
This LF-LC will become the next SC600 or LFB to compete with Benz SL550, BMW 650i, Audi V8 R8, Aston V8 Vantage, Porsche 911 Carrera S. Will be Lexus production long term halo after LFA's production ended.
V8 Hybrid with 450 hp
CVT or dual clutch tranny
Coupe and compact retractable hardtop (AKA Italia Spider) variant.
Probably 4WD like the new NSX or current LS600h. This will probably be some what of a carry over LS600h drivetrain.
MSRP: $140k.
Then a GS coupe / convertible 2+2 will appear to compete with Benz E550 coupe, Audi S5......etc.
Base on GS chassis and drivetrain.
MSRP: Similar to all GS equivalent variants.....350, 450h: $60k~$80k
IMO Lexus needs a highend coupe and sedan that is $100k+ to keep the image, LS600h, SC600h. The LFA is so far out of reach that it doesn't help much, you never see one on the street and some normal folks don't even know it exist. Like the Benz SLR that some Benz owners don't even know it exist.
So the 600 range or the LS range is V8 only, we can see the SC as a LS coupe. Then there will be the GS coupe that is V6 only, sub $100k.

Just curious, if anybody here has the photoshop talent to put smaller wheels on it and remove some of the chrome to give us a better idea of what a production version would look like.

For me :
- under 100k starting
- BASE model MUST be 400hp+ v8 or greater IMO
- some sort of dual clutch tranny ( it's time for LEXUS to grow up and make real transmissions)
- Must make a roadster version of some sort and F variant later on
These are my initial thoughts. Unless it has a state of the art engine/trans combo and some record breaking time there is no way that a 100k+ price tag will appeal to the market. Also, looking at the direct competitor for the SC (MB SL) anything smaller than a v8 is silly imo for a car like that and would just take away from it, ( for ex. the 6-series only comes in v8 variants) also I doubt that they will be going with forced induction anytime soon so that is really out of the question to me. Honestly, I can't really see my self buying this car as a hybrid. it would be nice to have a diesel or hybrid option but not for the performance or higher end model. If there is going to be a hybrid it should be like how MB or BMW does it because a M5d would just sound stupid. Just some of my thoughts of the top of my head...

I don't think any car guys will think the 918 Spyder is lame

I am thinking what we see in the LF-CH will be what we get in the LC-600h in terms of format.
Very much an aspirational car.
2+2 grand touring coupe with the retractable glass roof, RWD (though I would like AWD) hybrid (crappy guess of a 5L direct injection V8 and Li Ion based hybrid combining for 450 to 475 HP.
I am expecting a range topping price from $130-150K.
As interesting as it is to speculate multiple power options and formats (coupe, vert), Lexus has not shown a willingness (like the germans) to expand in such a way so I am guessing one version and done.

640i is a twin turbo 6...............
Ah, I completely forgot about that, but still shows the forced induction side of the spectrum which again Lexus won't be investing in anytime soon...
Eco hybrid is lame, but think performance hybrid.........aka 918 Spyder.

Talked with a few people and got some info...
1. The concept blew away everyone at NAIAS. We now know it won "best concept"....
2. There seems to be a running prototype around...not sure of the engine/hybrid details
3. Dealers have 100% told Lexus "BUILD THIS CAR WE WANT THIS CAR TO SELL THE PEOPLE WANT THIS CAR". This is a huge deal b/c it ultimately comes down to the dealers to sell it. With their overwhelming response early they have to continue to knock down the door to get this built.
4. I have heard already priced below $100,000. Which I am assuming means 80-100k.
5. No talk of the name SC so not sure what it would be called yet
6. The interior functions are like a touchscreen phone. For instance to roll the windows up or down, instead of a switch, you use your fingers to swipe the screen up or down . Pretty trick!
Overall I think there is a great chance this car will make production as Lexus continues to usher in coupes to the market.
