Teaser of Upcoming Lexus Models: Discussion
Let's discuss the teasers shown half way through this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKjc4chzLQc
This looks like the current IS with a spindle grill refresh, is it seriously what they intend to bring to the fight with the new ATS and 3 series?
This looks like the ES, a bit bland, headlights are like the Chinese Camry, but could be elegant:
Not sure what this is, the fangs extend all the way to the bottom, could it be the LS? Mesh grill says perhaps not, maybe RX F-sport?
Recently shown LX facelift?
Not sure what this is:
Or this, LS? SC?
Is this a different model or another shot of the ES?

Hey all!
I've been following you guys since several months ago, but didn't register till some days ago... I'd make an introduction thread later, let's focus first on the new models Lexus will unveil this 2012.
Have you seen this pic? It pretty much unveils how are new models' front grille:

Going clockwise I'd say LS, ES, RX, GS, LX. Note the IS seems absent, I bet it's because they're merely refreshing that vehicle - again. Like I said, the below shot headlights look almost exactly like the current IS.

What you think its RX could easily be this concept car as production SC. Notice it has F mesh grill.

A lot of assumptions and jumping to conclusions Mr. Burns. All I know is that you don't really know which models are which .
Excellent of Lexus though to mysteriously tease us upcoming models. The most amazing thing is the teasers in this video are only some of the new/updated Lexus models debuting in 2012, as confirmed by Mark Templin.
By the way, I know which one is the ES, but I won't say anything for now .
Also, if Lexus were to introduce some new models that had family styling similarity to previous-gen models or to each other, WHY must there be a double standard? Audi and BMW do it, but they are barely criticized for it. Who decided that only Lexus can be criticized for this? PR marketing teams from the competition that troll forums? Is this personal jealousy and national pride creeping in automotive forums these days, due to the fact that Lexus is releasing world-class luxury models that put a lot of pressure on Audi, BMW, and Benz?

Exciteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I really hope that the LX is the only one that will be a refresh, while the sedans (and that small CUV) are ALL NEW. Bring it Lexus, the competition has stepped up their game Time to overtake them yet again

I think the RX F Sport is going to be very nice...I'm looking forward to that one. Some vehicles will be more drastically refreshed with the new face, whereas some really won't receive/need a huge change.
For example, the front ends of the GX and RX don't mesh well at all with the spindle theme. Those are going to have to be significantly redesigned to make the spindle work.
LX (despite the reactions here) was relatively minor...the general shape was already there, they just added the fangs and it now flows into the spindle.
With the LS, the trapezoid in the bottom grill is going to have to be flipped upside down and that one should require a bit of work, but I'm not thinking that it will be as radical as the GX and RX. CT will just need to be sharpened up a tad - not much at all.
ES and IS will be all-new, so those are irrelevant.
LOVING the spindle so far...awesome
